How so? If you want to make it more plausible, make it 3 turnovers. He turned the ball over 5 times in the first half, were down 34 points, and brought the game back to a 2 score game. One less turnover, or one more TD and who knows.

have we ever won 1 game where Kurt had 3 or more turnovers? even with 3 turnovers you're talking about a unbelievably unrealistic hypothetical.

Now, I will concede that this scenerio is unlikely. However, my point is that we shouldn't dictate benching KW on if we win or not. It should be on how well he plays.

as far as giving up 1 or 2 turnovers per... no team can give up 2 turnovers per game and hope to consider itself a contender. 1 a game is fine. anything more than that and you're begging for problems.

How about we inject some statistical reality into the sweeping statements?

In point of fact, three Super Bowl teams in the last nine seasons were over 2 turnovers a game during the regular season. The 18 teams in the Super Bowl averaged just under 27 regular season turnovers. Only one of them actually met your 1 per game threshold. The rest, I guess, were begging for problems.

Nobody's saying turnovers aren't bad. I'm certainly not. However, your internal meter for what constitutes good play and a reasonable number of them is as far off as Warner's internal pass rush clock.

a) so, the overwhelming majority of those team averaged less than 2 turnovers, right? b) come on man, the issue was that 1 or 2 turnovers per game are fine and I said 2 turnovers per ain't fine, it's begging for problems. I just think people (like you have in the past) just underestimate the effect of turnovers on the game. If you literally think I believe that unless you have only 16 turnovers per season you're in trouble, I don't know what to tell you. It was a flippant way to talk about 1 turnover versus 2.

I've got an idea. How about the defense gets some turnovers to equal things out.

that needs to happen as well.

DRC hopes to be the only one in the secondary that can make turnovers happen. AW is not bad at it either, but banged up we shouldn't expect much.

Let's get him out there Whiz.

In fact, right now I woul run a base nickel defense with Hood, Green, Rolle, AW and DRC.

a) Yes, but not by all that much.

b) Right back at you with the "come on, man". I can only judge what you think by what you actually say. I'm not capable of magically divining what you mean when you say something else, and your perspective on what constitutes average or better turnover ratios has been badly skewed in the past.

Great game for Warner today...now if he can just be consistent.

Let me start by saying I don't have any problem with Kurt the person (did you see that little blurb about his family ananomously buying dinner for other families in today's MMQB?). He is an outstanding human being. A role model, and for a while he was absolutley the best QB in the league. And, after the MIA game, I was actually getting quite comfortable with him as the starter, and really starting to forget about the QB controversy in camp.

But I was also worried about him regressing once he was established as the unquestioned starter, and the jets game was a disaster. It was my worst nightmare in terms of Kurt turning it over (The defense was also horrible, but at least they were missing key players).

To me, Sunday's game against a good Bills defense will be Warner's last chance to prove that he deserves to start.

Quantify in any way you want. QB rating, turnovers, TD passes, win or lose, whatever.

If he plays great or even good, fine. Bring on the Warner vs. Romo show.

But man, if doesn't help the team win, or at least not cause it to lose, then I will offically be calling for Leinart, forever.

No more teasing us Kurt!

You need to post more post about Warner like that. Perhaps one the better games you will ever see a QB play. Kurt Warner is still a major threat in the NFL. He plays hurt. He plays smart. He plays to win and he plays to always ATTACK. I think it was he more than the coach who opened up that attack today. Do we ever have a bunch of receivers or what? Fitz remains an all-pro and these young guys looked solid.

So why didn't Farve have problems holding the ball? I don't recall one errand throw from him. I remember them saying something in the pregame about Kurt and about him having problems. Even still, he shouldn't have the fumbling problem, he is wearing gloves on both hands. If the gloves get wet, replace them. It also doesn't explain the pick6 to Revis with only 2 rushers.

Trying to blame the weather when the other QB had no problems and our QB had 6 turnovers is beyond silly.

Favre has abnormally long fingers, and I'm not kidding.

Warner is starting because he is the better QB period right now. If Leinart was better he would be playing, he needs more time apparently. I don't think Leinart is a bust but when he plays I don't care for the happy feet and total lack of arm strength. He may work out for us in the long run but their is just as good a chance he doesn't. It is early in the season and Warner still gives us the best chance to win. Like I said in another thread if we are 2-4 and heading knowhere bring in Leinart. Thing is though as bad as the division is looking 8-8 could win it, and for me making the playoffs would be huge for this TEAM no matter who is at QB.

If we get to the playoffs it will be on Kurt Warner's arm and our receivers.

Looks like Warner past the test. :D

Will we have another thread like this if he has another bad game? Or should we bump this one? :sarcasm:

How about we just give the man some respect.

42 pass attempts...zero turnovers (for all you stat guys).

We are lucky to have Warner.

The QB gets too much blame and too much credit and you know that there'll be a thread like this before the season ends, so why don't we use it to remember the good and the bad?
