There are few options for PG's out there but none are proven starters. I'm not sure who they acquire or where but they need to land a solid PG if they hope to even threaten a playoff run. I don't see the playoffs in their future next year but they should have a 12-13 game improvement.

Ive already seen enough of Ayton with bad PG’s. I can’t do it anymore.

Get one.

If the Suns could trade up for Jaren Jackson Jr. can anyone imagine how good the Suns would be with Ayton and JJJ at center and PF respectively.

In the Scott Bordow article today he writes:
The Suns have said Kokoskov’s relationship with Doncic will not factor into their decision. They’ve also said they will consider other players, such as Duke’s Marvin Bagley III and Texas’ Mohamed Bamba. But as the draft approaches, the debate likely will be limited to Ayton, the potentially dominant franchise center the Suns never have had, or Doncic, the teenager who has dominated grown men in the second-best league in the world.

Please tell me it's Ayton or Jaren Jackson Jr. at the top.

Some of these tweets provide great amusement.

This is part of a fake NBA news account epidemic the last week or so. There are new accounts popping up, including "Hoop Scoop", which are fake accounts using profile pictures of other real people not running the account, and/or stock photo people, and even an NBA2K Sports League Managing Director.

Eastern Europeans that want their guy to go #1?

Noticed the same thing. Ayton would be close to 30 ppg and 17 rpg LOL.
24 and 14 actually, but it's more about the fact that they are making the others numbers seem more impressive than they are. Much harder to actually play big minutes while maintaining those type of numbers.

The blocks are where Ayton would come up short still.

Easier to block a lot of shots per 40 when you are playing less minutes and being asked to be more aggressive.
Even if Ayton’s minutes were more limited I’m pretty sure he comes up short there. Look, I LOVE Ayton. If we draft anyone other than him I’ll be stunned and sharpening my pitchfork and piling up the torches. But I’m also going to remain realistic in viewing strengths and weaknesses.

I think the fact that Ayton was guarding out to perimeter is more of the reason he comes up short on blocks. Much easier to block shots when you are told to live in the paint like Bamba.

Draft night can't come soon enough and then all the speculation will be over, Ayton will be the pick and we can watch him destroy the summer league. Personally I think he will be a tremendous shot blocker at the next level. He has all the physical tools but he will no longer be stuck guarding people on the perimeter where its not even possible to show his true shot blocking ability. I think he has as much potential on the defensive end as Bamba and JJJ, however on the offensive side he is far superior.

On a side note, all this talk of the center position no longer being as valuable in the league is ridiculous. I would actually attribute this more to the complete lack of talented big men coming into the league then anything else. Imagine David Robinson in today's game.... He's a nightmare for all these undersized lineups. That's what Ayton brings to the table.

100%.

I think when constructing teams you can either build a team to account for current trends, or build a team for future/past trends. Build a team centered around Ayton in the post and Booker/Jackson on the wings. Give Ayton a few years and only a handful of centers will be able to keep up with him. Hopefully Koko can get the most out of his offensive game.

Yeah, I think if Ayton had actually been assigned the paint on defense he would have averaged another block or so per game.

I don’t know how many games y’all watched but I watched every game I could. He may not have been bolted to the floor in the lane but a lot of the commentary paints an image of Ayton parked at the arc defensively and that just wasn’t the case. A full additional block per game is a big overstatement. I could see, at most, an additional half block a game and even then I’m not sold that is accurate. His defensive awareness and timing in rim protection was less than impressive.
