Early thoughts.

Bledsoe is the best player on the court. He has improved his outside shot. The Bledsoe/Thomas combo really looks good. The Bledsoe/Plumlee connection is alive and well. Watch the sequence that starts about the 21:50 mark.

You can see it live here. http://www.nba.com/suns/training-camp-2014

Another thought, Randolph might not just be an emergency/garbage guy if he can hit that three. Okay, that's doubtful but a serious thought. If you want to see what Goodwin's ceiling is, think Bledsoe with a couple more inches of reach. Archie shows skills similar to what we saw from Eric when he was with the Clippers. I think I've said this before but I won't be upset if we decide to trade Goodwin but I'd be very pissed if we just used him as a throw-in to get some scrub like Dudley.

Man, some of those three point shots look as flat as I've ever seen. I can't tell how much of that is tired legs from the week of high altitude workouts and how much of is that horrible top-down camera view. Hopefully it's all camera, I'd hate to think our guys have been practicing flat shots from the arc.

We have to find a way to get Warren a lot of court time this season. Give TJ 30 minutes a game and I think he wins ROY.

I know people love Dragic here, but if Bledsoe's healthy, I still think he's far and away the better overall player. He got a dynamic nature to his game that no one else on this team has, at both ends of the court.

How did Len look?

Tolliver says that McDermott is "his guy" but TJ made him look really bad when they went head to head in workouts.

That's the way its looking in the scrimmage. Its a good think Goran doesn't have to play against Bledsoe in games, he would be owned. By next summer, negotiating with Goran may be easy. He could be universally recognized as our second best pg by next summer.

I think Len is looking OK. Plumlee is looking really good. He has just such good footwork, if he could just finish at the rim with a higher percentage, we would not even be worrying that much about Len.

I thought Len looked pretty good. Defensively, I thought he was in the right position most of the time and avoided "rookie mistakes" (except 1 play where he lost focus and let Plumlee drive by him). He wasn't getting "pushed around" at all w/ his added strength. Offensively, I thought he looked pretty agile (for his 7-1 or 7-2, 260 lb. size at least). He put the ball on the floor a couple times and didn't look "lost" like he did last year. He even led a fast-break at 1 point and made a few nice passes. He had a nice explosive dunk off a Dragic pass too.

So overall nothing too surprising w/ Len. He didn't do anything "great", but he was solid I thought and looked like he belonged.

The Morris brothers really looked solid. Solid shooting especially from outside. Randolph was good too--almost had a double double. TJ had 10 points.

Archie was very active. 16 points and aggressive D. Lots of misses from outside though.

Actually, Goran didn't look that good to me.

He looked like crap. I hope he was just "coasting."

His brother Zoran didn't look very good either.

Not a great day for the Dragic family.

Someone said that Zoran has been through three training camps just recently. He is probably blitzed. But Archie did make him look silly on a few drives. Although, I think Archie could do that on almost anyone. If that kid could just shoot consistently. . .we say it enough. Archie has such an ugly shot.

I do think the day might come when the Morris brothers are both starting. That's one I just wouldn't have predicted. I was thinking their ceiling would be as a tandem off the bench.

Yeah, nobody is keeping Archie from getting to the hoop. Hell, he blew by Bledsoe (by far the best defender on the team) and laid it in over Plumlee. He made it look as easy as scoring on two High School players. If that kid ever ever develops a jumper, he will be scary.

I think Marcus' athleticism and defense is gonna be what keeps him from starting. Its hard to start in the NBA at the SF on a winning team if you aren't good defensively...you have to make up for it with a super good offensive game which Marcus doesn't have yet.

Len moved well and was pretty decent defensively. He didn't look real comfortable on offense though, seemed to rush his shots. He had a real nice putback though. The twins, Bledsoe and IT were easily the best players out there today. The Dragics are clearly worn out.

I hope in the next contract Dragic signs the Suns get him to ease up on his international play. He did not have much of an off-season.

In my opinion, that should be a condition of the contract. You can play for the Suns or you can play for the national team. You cannot do both.

Being the best player doesn't do anyone any good if you are burned out half way through a season.

We should limit his minutes early in the season. We are deep enough to do it. Let him rest some.

I've tried to watch a replay of the scrimmage at RISE NETWORK ON DEMAND but with no luck thus far.

For those of you who want to watch it, it comes to life at the 08:26 mark. Here we are in the 21st Century and the age of technology seems to be regressing.

Unfortunately, I don't have an hour and three-quarters to watch it tonight.

Yep. Happy that they are proud to play for their country, but there is little doubt that it affects Goran's ability to withstand the NBA grind.
