I know we already have two players at the 3 position, but the only player that I would absolutely want from GSW if we were to trade w/ them is S.Jack.
Golden State isnt going to trade their two best players and a #1 for Amare and Barbosa.
They'd be getting amare, who is the best player in the deal by a pretty good margin. So far this year, Barbosa is playing just as well as, if not better than, Ellis. It's still a bit unclear how badly that injury will affect him in the long-term. Maybe take the first rounder out and it'd be a better deal. Either way it's still pretty fair.
The trade that I would consider is
Amare/Barbosa/Tucker for Ellis/Biedrins/Randolph/2010 #1
They also could easily lose Amare after 1 season, so why mortgage your future when you dont even know if the guy you are acquiring would stick around. Teams dont give up their 2 best players for a player who can opt out a year later.
Golden State with Azubuike, Maggette, Jackson, and Barbosa, and a bunch of young guys who Don Nelson never plays isnt exactly a solid location when half the NBA is going to have the ability to offer Amare a max deal.
what makes you so sure amare would leave? Golden State is the perfect fit for him. He would be the best player on their team, and he'd be playing the kind of tempo he's best at. I can't think of any team amare would want to play for that would offer him a max deal. He isn't worth it, that's been proven.

It doesnt matter if Amare is worth it, which he is at the very least close to being worth it. Half the NBA has enough cap room to offer a max contract. Do you really think Amare wont opt out in 2010 and see what kind of offers he can get? Maybe he does resign with the Warriors, but he WILL test the market and any team that thinks there is a good possibility of Amare leaving isnt going to give up a good pacakge for Amare, especially one that sends out their best two players.
Im not saying GS isnt a possible destination, but there is no way the Warriors trade Ellis, Biedrins, and a #1 to get Amare, when he can easily walk in a summer and screw their longterm plans up.

Excuse me? There is no way we are going to take Monta Ellis and his horrible contract, while we have J.Rich and Barbosa on board. For the same reason, we have absolutely no interest on Azubuike, Maggette, etc.
Turiaf is a tremendous shot blocker, but his rebound rate is terrible, his defence at PF is also questionable. His contract is also very long. If we are going to take back a role player PF, Drew Gooden is a better choice with expiring contract.
Brandan Wright and Anthony Randolph might have some upside to think about. But are they better than Tyrus Thomas or Noah?
If he's happy with his new team and they're happy with him, he could agree to an extension, which would pay him more than he could get by defecting in 2010. Heck, even the Suns could probably extend Stoudemire this summer if they wanted to. My guess is that money is the main issue for him.
If Steve Kerr trades Amare within the division to a team with Monta Ellis and Don Nelson as the head coach where he'd be a perfect fit, he's even dumber than we all thought.
I'm various nervous that Kerr is going to get bent over the table in any deal he does, his track record worries me.
Monta Eliis and his horrible contract? Ellis is getting paid $11 mil per year for the next 5 years, that is far from a horrible contract for a guy that put up 20, 5 and 4 and is playing on a team that he doesnt want to play for and doesnt want him anymore.
I agree Gooden is the better player to take, but only because of his expiring contract. However, there is a reason why the Bulls and their fans cant wait to get rid of Larry Hughes and Drew Gooden.
I think Thomas and Noah is the better package, but Randolph could be a very good player just like THomas can be. Id take Tryus over all of them right now.
If they do this, which I doubt, it will make Kerr look like a complete idiot. Amare would be averaging like 30/10 in Nelson's system.
it's not amare's fault he's an uptempo kind of player in the wrong system with a center who interferes with his game a lot.
Instead of arguing with anti-Shaq Amare fans, I wish Kerr take the offer of Josh Howard + Stackhouse A.S.A. Damn P.
Come on arwillan. Even with Shaq, offense is not Amare's problem. It's his rebounding and defense. They have been issues his entire career. That is Amare's problem and Shaq doesn't intefere with Amare's defense. If anything Shaq covers up for it.
