The difference is about 10 - 15 seconds. I listened a lot to this play being broken down by people who do this for a living, not just post on a message board.

Basically it is a free play. Why on earth would you guarantee to give Tom Brady a free play? Only because some stupid rookie didn't cover the ball when that was his only job.

The play worked. The player did not hold up his end of the deal and that is a fact.

Chris..lets just agree to disagree...but we have failed in the very simple...why add difficulty to it. The odds of a rookie making a mistake is much higher than trusting...Adrian Peterson!

Shane, you are better than this and you owe Campos an apology.

No he doesn't...It is why I haven't posted in a year. I read and come here every day..because I love the Cardinals...But I dont agree with 95% of the board. But it is fun to read info on the Cardinals. No biggie. His opinion wont change because he says sorry.

I also wish Campos would stop posting in caps to make us think his posts are more important than everyone else's

I also credit Whisenhunt for what he deserves---

You would be standing here alone, Chris, if Gostkowski makes the FG and the Cardinals lose because of one of the stupidest plays in Arizona Cardinal football history.

Funny how you can call it a good play because Whisenhunt got away with it, isn't it?

There is NO chance you are right on this one. NONE.

I call it a good play because it was executed correctly and had the largest chance to run off the most time off the clock.

I certainly wouldn't be claiming that a professional running back needs to be coddled about how to secure the ball when the game is on the line.

Rediculous.

Gambo (yes Gambo) raised what I thought was a good point today--

His POV was not to kneel but to run plays-- even on 3rd and 13.

The rationale was that you needed to burn both time and yards in tha situation.

On the last play, if you kneel you lose 2 yards. If you get your average rush of 3 yards, that represents 5 more yards and 7-8 more seconds of game clock.

Gambo argues that with Brady and a very good kicker with a strong leg -- getting that five yards and 7-8 seconds was important enough to justify running the ball.

Of course, all that assumes the RB doesn't fumble the ball.

You guys show me where the EXPERTS said it was a great play...and I'll show you where he was laughed out...lets see who can find more articles???

The play was a DEBACLE---you, Campos, and I know it. We don't need experts---EVERYTHING ABOUT THE PLAY WAS ABOUT AS STUPID AS A COACH CAN GET IN THAT SITUATION, SAVE THROWING THE BALL.

Go to any football clinic---and I have gone to hundreds and have given clinics myself---and what EVERY coach will tell you is that when you are in a position to protect the lead and the ball with the clock and the timeout situation on your side---YOU PLAY THE ODDS. YOU OWE IT TO YOUR PLAYERS.

I guess...the other blunder made me just as mad so it made the pitch worse. Why didn't Whiz or anyone say to run the ball out on the kick off? That was a major bone head play too...because if he did that...the 18 yard run by Williams would have iced the game.

LSH is getting a free pass. If he runs the ball out of the end zone, NE doesn't get the 2 minute warning TO and the game is over.

Name me one game inthe NFL with that much time left and a QB of Brady's caliber on the other side and a coach gave up the xtra seconds and yards by kneeling? Good luck....... Waiting.......

There was a debate on this because of the Giants game where TB hit Manning on thekneel down. Herm Edwards who was famous for running in the fumble on Pisarcik pointed out everyone forgets why the Giants actually tried to hand the ball off. Because 2 plays earlier the GIants took a knee and the Eagles hammered Pisarcik. The same thing had happened the week before and the Giants sideline pointed out that the kneeldown took less time off the clock and they didn't want Pisarcik getting hit 3 times in a row and possibly fumbling or getting hurt. So they hand it off gain 5 yards. Next play they were going to kneel again but the coach said no hand it off again, the center panicked and snapped it early the handoff was botched and Edwards scoops up the fumble and wins it.

As Stout said, it should have been a kneel down and a punt with 30 seconds left and make the Patriots---without any timeouts try to go 40 yards in two plays and still somehow be able to spike the ball---virtually impossible.

NOOOOO!!

You do NOT give up the ball ON PURPOSE with the score that close. No. You just don't do it. Especially to Tom "I have 3 rings" Brady. You never, ever give up the ball in this situation. If they don't have the ball they can't score.

Sorry Mitch, but No. You just don't do it. Not to Brady. (A lesson learned watching Joe Montana march down the field against the Rams.) The ball means life. You choke them. You don't give them mouth to mouth.

He didn't get a pass in my world, I've ripped him 3 times in posts for that crap. Did you see Feeley freaking out on the sideline? He knew he screwed up also :bang:

I think he was going to, but the ball took that awkward bounce and the cover teams were closer because of it.

Because really, when DOESN'T LSH want to take the ball out??

So these "clinics" you go to tell you to not take more time off the clock in that situation? Just asking ...

Wow. Perspective is everything. We were almost two touchdown dogs in that game for all the money you wanted to place on it.

Ken and his team put together a game that won it; yea, we gave them a chance, then they gave it back; that must happen two or three times a game in the NFL, why pick-a-part a brilliant game that ended correctly with the team that earned it winning.

By the way, happy to think that the personality that the Cardinals takes on is KW's.

Finally, my next post will be my 4000th, expect something good.
