What this story tells me is the new front office is still learning and stubbing their toe now and again. They misjudged their target’s value and now have to pay the amount in salary they didn’t want to pay and throw in a draft pick to get him. Feels like the tampering error. Until Murray returns, what makes you think that Dobbs is a backup? He already knows the Petzing offense, so there’s no guarantee that he isn’t the starter against Washington in the opener.

Trust me. He’s better than McCoy. McCoy was average when he was healthy. I think his arm is beyond TOAST right now. And Dobbs is eons more elusive than McCoy’s.

Other than the fact that we should have just signed him as a FA, you should not be upset about the Dobbs trade. Whether they admit to or not, McCoy’s arm is toast & Tune’s footwork isn’t ready for an NFL regular season start. Dobbs is familiar with Pelzing’s offense, and MO is familiar with him also. And Dobb’s has the mobility that is a prerequisite in Pelzing’s offense.
