I said it when the Ayton trade happened, I didn't like seeing Camara included. He had a good showing for Portland to open their preseason. He had 13 points, 4 boards, and 3 assists in limited minutes. Of course it's preseason but he produced better than Ayton did for the Blazers. We'll get a good look at him with back to back games coming against Portland also.

Valley of the Suns took note also and did a piece on him....

You know the IT factor, this guy has it and i saw it during summer league. And then his form and body were what you wanted to see out of a prototypical nba forward. I don't feel that the suns gave up on him, rather than the blazers wanted him for the trade to be considered. Mind you though, those numbers are against a non nba team.

He carried himself like a pro and looked like on throughout summer league. There wasn't more than a play here and there where he looked like a washout similar to most other summer league guys. He definitely had a lot to be excited about, not just now but locked into a cheap 4 year deal as well. He may not pan out, I wouldn't bet against him.

The level of competition was bad but the Suns also lost to one of those teams last preseason. There's talent but not a lot. Toumani produced more than some of his teammates who have more experience and skill as well. That tells me this kid will put in the work regardless of who he's facing. He should be able to put up numbers like that but actually doing so speaks well for his drive.

Trading him was short sighted.

Would you just ride with Ayton instead if Portland told us no Toumani, no deal? I'm disappointed in the value we recieved (including the loss of Toumani) but knowing that DA wanted out no matter what, I'm not sure we had much of a choice here.

I’m hoping that was the case but it could be numbers on the roster and he was the rookie.

It was probably him instead of Grayson. The latter will probably be a bigger factor this year, but we had 4 years of control with Toumani.

I have to say based on what I have seen from Little so far, I would much rather have Camara

I for one am going to blame James Jones, he hates rookies with a capital H .

I like Camara. Seriously, where was he getting minutes on this roster? He would not get enough minutes to develop. Most our bigs are betting shooters of the three pointer currently. I would love to keep him, but I would hate for him to just sit the bench.

Depends on well he played.

Right now it appears he would need to beat out is KBD which looks doable based on his first 2 games.

IDK how many guys will be contributing each night under Vogel. IF Vogel goes 8 to 10, there's zero minutes there for him. They will play the big three, Nurkic, Okogie, Gordon, Eubanks, Watanabe, Allen, and that's nine just right there. Probably looking like Metu will get some run. I don't even know if there is minutes for Bates-Diop. Let alone the Bol Bols, etc.

Plus WE might have included Camara to make room for guys we wanted to bring in.

Keon Johnson is not someone we wanted to bring in, we're probably going to waive him.

Since preparations for the Ayton trade had been going on for some time, it passed through my mind that Portland may have had input on whom the Suns drafted.

Camara, from what he showed in summer league, is fundamentally sound, and all he needs is to improve his shooting. I'm disappointed that they included him into the trade, as a direct change for Keon Johnson.
