I like it. Probably team options after the first year. If he happens to surprise and become a good rotation player the team can keep him around cheap for 4 years.

Toumani getting up some shots. He's got really good form. He's a lefty, which I didn't realize. I hadn't watched much film on him shooting, mainly his defense.

I think on this board I am the biggest supporter of this guy based on everyone's comments. That the Suns are giving him essentially a four year prove it regular contract means they see something in him, too. I just love that his skills are what our weaknesses have been as a Suns team. Definitely could be a part of the solution for us.

I really hope you are right about him. If we could get a young rotation player out of a second round pick it would be really helpful considering the position we are in.

It's not that uncommon for 2nd round picks to be signed like that. Usually team options after the 1st year. So it's similar to a 1st round picks. We signed Melton to a similar deal as a 2nd round pick. It allows for a lot of flexibility.

Yeah, it's super smart. You don't do it if you think he's a development guy. Probably go two way then. I think they feel he's a keeper, plus it allows him to play in the playoffs. I can see why they did it with Melton, too. He had some NBA feel to his pick, plus we needed his position.

Also, now I think you can go to five years on a first rounder, but obviously they get guaranteed contracts.

I'm so grateful we have him locked into a 4 year deal. Kid is a player, for sure. Maybe not a lotto pick but when the biggest knock on him is age, that's a good thing. I'm fairly certain he would have been a 1st round pick 10-15 years ago, before draft age wasn't such a negative.

My guess

Waiting to see how this plays out salary wise. If he becomes a starter, best case scenario, he will be WAY underpaid over this four year contract.

To me this is what you have to do in summer league if you're going to be on a NBA roster. I get its not NBA level competition but the guys who you think should be on the NBA roster should be putting up numbers like this.

I think he is a solid pickup.

From the way he moves within a team concept, he has excellent court awareness. Paired with his athletism, I see him develop with time into a combination of Nancy Jr., Caleb Martin type of nice rotation player in this league.

He will get To practice daily with some of the best players in the NBA. He will grow quickly. By the end of the season we’ll know what we have in him.

I like that Nance Jr. comparison. Probably better than any I was able to make. If he can even be 80% of what Nance Jr has become, it was a great pick since second rounders don't typically pan out.

Well..... This is about as good as any of us could have hoped for a 50th (ish) pick in the 2nd round.

Work on that shot young one and you'll be in the league for at least 10 years.

It's like early Bridges without as much hitch in the shot. Some of the threes are rainbow pure swishes that barely move the net. Some thought, are hardcore clunks. I hope our staff and hanging with Book and KD will help with that.

I said it when the Ayton trade happened, I didn't like seeing Camara included. He had a good showing for Portland to open their preseason. He had 13 points, 4 boards, and 3 assists in limited minutes. Of course it's preseason but he produced better than Ayton did for the Blazers. We'll get a good look at him with back to back games coming against Portland also.

Valley of the Suns took note also and did a piece on him....
