Kryapa was just released by the bulls today. anyone think he'd be a likely pickup. as i recall we were pretty high on him a couple years ago.

I really, really like Viktor Khryapa. He would be perfect for the Suns. He is a bit like TT in that he can probably play all three front line positions in a crunch. He is very versatile player. I don't know what the problem was with him not getting playing time in Chicago but if his price is the minimum, he is a steal.

I really liked him when with Portland. He would be worth picking up.

Yes, I heard this might be the case but didn't see it anywhere.

If he is available he would be worth looking at.

What is the deal with Luke Jackson?

Miami waived him yesterday.

EDIT:
Luke Jackson highlights from last year. :)

I doubt Sarver would consider using any of that trade exception unless it was a very small piece of it. Honestly, I don't forsee anyone off the streets coming in and taking time away from anybody. If anything, I think it will be a D-Leaguer or someone off the waiver wire just to fill out the roster. Players like Artest or Miller are really just a dream.

I would definitely look at Kryhapa. Definitely would NOT look at Luke Jackson. I loved Kryhapa in Portland. Yes, he can play all 3 frontcourt positions if need be, definielty can play the 3/4. He's good rebounding wise, is quick enough feet wise and stays in front of his man, and can spread the floor with the 3. As far as the porblems with him in Chicago is that he was behind Deng and Nocioni to begin with, plus Chicago wanted to play Ty Thomas and Noah more than a guy that was expiring. I'm sure D'Antoni would like hi, he's got a game like the Euros and that's what the Suns play.

As far as anyone else that ISN'T on a NBA roster as far as just signings, I'd look at the NBDL for a 3/4. A few pages back in this thread, are some guys from the NBDL that I think would fit great here with us. Maybe we could get a Jamario Moon of our own there.

Random question:

It says Khryapa was born in the USSR. If someone was born in a place that no longer exists, are they still born there or are they from whatever it is called currently?

it's the bolded one, i think. like (if i'm not mistaken) Lithuanian players becoming Serbia and Montenegro players (again, if i'm not mistaken). just to be sure, you can check out wikipedia, it's probably there...

I just have to say this is the most amusing post I read today. :) I'm curious to know, too.

We'll mostly it is what its called currently. Khryapa is a Russian now, not a soviet ;) Though basically it depends from city that someone was born and on which countries territory that city is right now.

As long as it isn't Frahm, I'll be happy. I for one like Benson as well as Elton Brown. The defense and work they do on the boards is great. However there are 2 other guys that I like as well. One is Randy Livingston who can play PG/SG and the other is Kaniel Dickens who plays the 2/3 and could play some 4 and can spread the floor with his 3pt shooting.

Randy Livingston 6'4" (210) PPG 16.0 RPG 4.0 APG 11.3 SPG 1.2 BPG 0.1 FG% .455 3FG% .363 (33 of 91 on season for 3's)
Kaniel Dickens 6'8" (235) PPG 21.8 RPG 5.2 APG 1.2 SPG 0.8 BPG 0.8 FG% .479 3FG% .436
(88 of 202 on season for 3's)
Elton Brown 6'9" (250) PPG 20.1 RPG 10.9 APG 2.1 SPG 0.5 BPG 1.0 FG% .505 3FG% .333
(1 of 3 on season for 3's)
Rod Benson 6'10" (225) PPG 12.7 RPG 12.1 APG 1.1 SPG 1.3 BPG 1.3 FG% .513

I read on some other forum that during the Suns-Hornets game, the announcer said D'Antoni was gonna just grab some guard out of the D-League. Anyone heard anything about that??

Viktor Khryapa 6'9" (218) career stats in 16.4 minutes per game
PPG 4.5 RPG 3.4 APG 1.0 SPG 0.6 BPG 0.3 FG% .443 3FG% .292

His best games were against Phoenix
PTS 22 @ Suns
RBS 12 @ Suns

He would work well here in our system as he did with Portland a couple years ago when they were first starting to run. Plus this is only his 4th season so he's still young as well (25 yrs old).

Hopefully it's not Andre Barrett again. He's too small and didn't grab ahold of our system all that well. If he grabs a guard from the D-League hopefully it will be Randy Livingston. He's an old NBA vet (33 yrs old in April) that still has a lot of game.

looking through some of the rosters last night, what about Nocioni? He's in the last year of his contract and would still have about $4mil left. They could use part of the TE for him.

The Suns have two TE's for KT and Jones.

While they would take a hefty tax hit this season it would only be for the title run.

And don't forget ppl, the Suns will have to move more salary over the summer if they want to avoid another hefty tax hit. They will have potentially 8 players under contract at $71mil.

No Randy Livingston. All he does is destroy careers. Remember when he fell into Goog's knee? He never was the same.

He is a legit NBA player just floating out there. Not many of those around for the minimum.

I know I'll probably get flamed for this.. but what one of Grant Hill's former teammates in Detroit who was rumored to attempt a comeback earlier in the season... that being Allan Houston?

Whats the deal with Michael Petrius? I know GS resigned him but he's not getting much PT and numbers are way down. Could he be had for cheap?
