Prefer baseball? That's ridiculous.

You mean like Brian Jordan. I’m not saying Murray leaves after a year. However 3 years in, if he’s been taking a beating, baseball may seem very attractive. He’d belong to the A’s. He’d likely get $10 mil to sign if healthy. At 24 then he could be in the majors by 26. You can play baseball for many more years than football

All valid points. If we recoup a 1st for Rosen then it’s just a 1, 3, and 5 - which what we would’ve lost if we stuck with Rosen and he busts.

Folks, there’s an art and a science to the draft for sure. But underlying those factors is the biggest determinant of all . . . LUCK. Every scenario we’ve discussed has luck as the largest driver. I find myself arguing in favor of kyler over and over again not because I know i want him - as I’ve stated repeatedly I still have no idea what I want out of this draft - but rather bc it seems, as Krang pointed out, the vast majority of arguments being made against kyler either seem extremely flimsy, lacking in logic, or as the draft draws nearer flat out panicked insanity from BW.

Panicked insanity.:madarms: hardly .

So now you’re not only arguing that his winning should be held against him, but that the actual success he showed in the field should be ignored. Man your all-consuming hate for the guy has really caused you to go all out berserker in trying to make up problems. It’s entertaining.

BS and nonsense.Glad you are entertained.I don`t hate the guy.I don`t see the Superduper can`t miss transcendent wonderboy QB that you Murrayites see.IF that beserker mode in your eyes then its your freaking problem. So feel free to continue to enjoy .[/QUOTE]
Lol “murrayite”. I think you have a reading comprehension issue. I am not a Murray backer. I am just capable of seeing both sides of the argument as you fail to do.

I still like josh. I think Murray is a bigger risk but offers more reward. I don’t know if I believe josh/quinnen offers more than Murray/what we get for josh. I’m a growing fan of quinnen’s.

Nonsense. There have been legitimate question concerning his ability to throw in the pocket, his ability to throw to WRs who don`t have 5 yard cushions,His ability to withstand NFL hits, his ability to process reads. All those are on the field questions.College isn`t the NFL.

@BW52

I have read or heard nothing of this.. which doesn't say much. But if youre gonna throw that out there.. any reliable sources?

No kidding.Drafting a QB after not giving Rosen a chance to succeed with a actual NFL caliber supporting cast is risk that is unnecessary IMO.Thats why I prefer Bosa/Q.Williams.I .feel either of those two will be great additions to the defense .I would rather see what Rosen can do in a better situation and use the top pick on defense.
I completely understand this logic. And I can’t say that it would disappoint me.

He wouldn’t get $10M to sign after four years away from baseball. Not buying that.

This bust part is one of the most important things. We're already year one into a "decade of a lost team," maybe two, considering it was clear we had no shot in Arians' final year.

The FO has managed this all pretty wrecklessly and they need to divert course.
Nothing to fear but fear itself. I would argue playing the safe route in the NFL gets you nowhere.

Throw me some examples of winning teams that took insane risks, especially at #1.

Most of the successful teams I see ended up playing it smart and got lucky here or there. The perpetually bad ones are the ones who seem to think everything is going to be the exception to the rule.

I'm all for "no risk it, no biscuit" when it comes to game time, but not personnel.

They offered him $14 mil to sign out of college. I’m not sure 3 years out drops his value more than 35%. Remember the A’s would be competing against his NFL employer. Murray not going to tell them he won’t go back to the NFL.

Huddle report,.I tend to put a bit more credence to OURLADS since the guy is a former college player and College Coach and former NFL scout.
So because it isn`t a glowing testimonial for Murray you give it no credit?

Based on???

Do you have anything historically similar to compare it to?
Based on the offer of $14M for him NOW, not 3 more years away with no baseball. And it’s my opinion. And I’ll own it as such. I don’t think that’s realistic.

But it’s not just three years. It’s also three years away from baseball. A team might be willing to throw some money at him but if the A’s a small market ownership team retain his rights they have to maximize their spend and. Dude away from baseball for four years isn’t a good investment for them. $14M for a guy right out of college is another creature entirely. Zero rust. And youth galore.

Gotcha. I just think this team needs to Costanza the hell out this.. ignore your instincts and do the opposite. Cause you know Keim and MB want to do something safe...but the opposite choice is Murray. It's like all the non Murray supporters on here... It just confirms he will be a pro bowler and gets me excited. Haha
