Warmack!

By far Chance Warmack. BA and Tom Moore always emphasize how we need to..

1. Protect the QB
2. Become more physical at the line
3. Open running lanes; a better running game will in turn help the QB

Warmack can do all 3 of these and he's one of the best at doing so over the past decade. I don't understand all of this love for Eric Fisher. Sure he had a good showing at the Senior Bowl, but we all know if Lewan and Matthews had elected for the draft... Fisher wouldn't even be considered this high. He was originally projected to go in the 20's to low 30's... and that's what I view him as. So with that said...

PLEASE PICK CHANCE WARMACK!!!! :newcards:

A team in desperate need of a QB has a chance to draft the best QB in the class at #7, can't pass on that. Ill take Geno.

I went with Geno Smith simply because we are in dire need of a QB and he is the best one. Also I truly believe he will be a good QB in the NFL and I don't have that same confidence in any other QB in this draft.

Unless Geno becomes the next Tom Brady, he isn't going to be doing much behind a horrible line. I have BUST written all over him anyways, like Blaine Gabbert in 2011. We're better off waiting for a QB in the second or third round this year, or wait til next years draft. Kolb can keep the ship afloat until then.

Fischer or Jones. If we trade back in the 10-15 range then Warmack would be a good choice. LT's and elite pass rushers don't grow on trees. If we take Geno then I hope Arians and Moore really see something they like. I only watched a few of his games and I was not impressed.

Jarvis Jones. Can't pass up an elite pass rusher in favor of need.

Fisher. Although, I'd be very happy with Warmack.

How long, if at all, is going to be elite though? Spinal stenosis is a serious deal. Killed Marcus McNeill's career. If we only get 5-6 years out of him, it's really not worth it.

For me, it's clearly Warmack with Fisher behind him.

Chance Warmack should be the pick...

With Brown coming back and the improved play of Massie/Potter, you start 2 of those three, Warmack replaces Snyder on the OLine and use Snyder/Potter for depth...

He is the best guard to come out since Hutchinson.. Can't pass on him with our Oline struggles..

1. That is his entire rookie contract.
2. The average NFL career is 3 to 4 years.
3. He isn't an offensive tackle. Carrying all of that weight was part of McNeil's problem.

1. Are we really going to entertain the idea of taking a player 7th overall with the idea that he'll only fulfill his rookie contract?
2. Yes, the average NFL career is somewhere in that area but we're not talking about trying to acquire an average player. This is the 7th overall pick we're talking about. That player has to become a core member of this franchise if we really, truly want to go from 5-11 to competing in the NFC again.
3. I've done quite a bit of research on this and while I do note that heavier individuals will struggle with this disease, I've yet to find anything that suggests it won't grossly effect a normal athlete who's in the 250-270 range.

Just to add, credible draft sources confirmed that the reason he left Southern California to head to Georgie is because the USC medical department weren't comfortable clearing him.

Chance Warmack. Soldier on with Kolb and sign a vet QB. Next year is a much stronger QB class. Get the QBOF then.

As much as I'd love to pick up a pass rusher like Jones... there's no way we can pass up Warmack considering how horrible our OL has been. Jarvis Jones is a luxury pick and unfortunately we don't have that privilege this year. Warmack is no scrub either. Major need + beast on the OL. :newcards:

Got to do the same gap-analysis we did with Warmack vs. Colledge and Fisher vs. Potter (or Levi).

How much of a talent gap would there be between Jarvis Jones and either Acho, Scofield or Groves? A bigger or smaller gap than those involving our O-linemen?
