The question is how much do other teams value the morris twins?

Are the morris twins/14/18/lakers top 5 protected next year, something you would consider better than 6/17 (olynk/sullinger are worthless). At number 6, minny might feel they can get one of the potential future all-star player, say randle.

The article I posted claims that Minnesota doesn't think the quality at #6 is any different than #13.

I also doubt that Minnesota wants 3 or 4 picks this year. Their roster is full and they want players that help them compete right now.

Sadly I believe that SAunders is a terrible GM and won't be able to figure out the most valueable trade.

Obviously the team that sits at 6 is hoping to get a better player than Markieff but there's a pretty good chance that won't happen. Once you get past Embiid, Parker, Wiggins, Exum and the highly overrated Vonleh there doesn't seem to be that much of a difference in the next 10 or so players. Well, if the rumors are true there doesn't seem to be much of a difference. I still think Randle should be gone before the 7th pick but it's looking less likely everyday.

Whaaa? I don't think the Twolves have any illusion about competing now if they deal Love. Their roster may be full but there's not a lot of quality there, and the team they do have is relatively young. Given how loaded the west is, it would be very difficult for them to compete without Love.

exactly...and if there WERE under the delusion they could compete now, it makes even MORE sense to go after a finished product like Lee (who's a consistent 19/9 guy) and a young up and coming stud with Thompson, rather then the 6th and 7th man of a playoff team, who have each only had ONE good season during their careers.

I honestly think Minnesota keeps Love to convince him to stay and then panic dumps him this winter. They're a pretty horrendous organization and that would something that sort of franchise would do.

If a team's best hope is to put more fans in the seats with entertaining basketball, Lee's 19/9 is impressive.

If you are looking to put together a dominant team, Lee is not a strong factor.

It wouldn't shock me if the Wolves plugged in a PF like Lee (also could be a player like Markieff), strengthened the rest of their roster and made the playoffs.... without Love. It's not like Love has carried the Wolves.

Thompson has a much higher ceiling than Green. Green was at his best last year as a 3pt chucker who can't dribble or pass.

Thompson is as good as him and Thompson's only been in the league fly what, 3-4 year? Green's been in the NBA forever.

There's a reason he's bounced around everywhere.

AHahhahaha...

Thompson was WORSE than him last season by a good margin, what does that tell you about Tohompson then?

Your post is so full of bull****, as usual. Green has played less NBA minutes than Thompson.

And who the f cares how many teams Green has been on, he is clearly a late bloomer.

And Thompson has more potential than Green based on what? Considering they are basically the same in terms of shooting, while Green is better than him at everything else, taller, longer, and three times the athlete.

12 years ago you would have taken Stephon Marbury over Steve Nash I guess since Nash had only 1 very good season under his belt while Marbury was 4 years younger and had already been an allstar.

The bottom line is that right now Gerald Green is a better player than Thompson.

If Love were not on the Wolves they'd probably be picking in the top 3 right now. That roster is garbage.

If David Lee is available, why not go after him if we aren't able to put together an offer for Love that Minnesota likes?

I don't even know what Golden State's needs are; would they be interested in any of our trade assets?

Problem with Lee is that he has two seasons left on his contract at $15M+ per year. He is not good enough to make the Suns a real contender, but he is expensive enough to prevent them from signing anyone else. Also, keep in mind Lee is already 31 years old.
Keep in mind, this is coming from a Lee fan. I wanted the Suns to trade Amare for him back when he was with New York, if I remember correctly.

If we took Lee's contract, I'd expect Barnes and or/ picks in return.

For all this talk about Lee, there appears to be absolutely no reason Minnesota would want him over Markieff Morris. He's overpaid, a lot older and marginally only arguably better than Kieff.

The key to this wouldn't be Lee vs. Morris as far as deal comparisons, it's more the picks and 2nd players involved.

Because Markieff is as good as Lee already and we can do better things with our capspace than David Lee.

I think Stefan answered it adequately. On a per-minute basis yeah, their stats are similar but is Kieff capable of playing 36 minutes a game or more?

I'm not sure about the first part but I agree we can do better with our cap space. In fact, we really need to do better than Lee with our cap if we hope to build for the future. For the money I'd certainly rather have Markieff than Lee and there's reason to hope that he'll actually outplay David in a year or two. But I don't think Morris is there just yet.

He's capable of playing 30 minutes. Is that extra 6 minutes worth the money and age concerns? I'd say no.

I don't want David Lee, but the idea that Keiff is better then him just hasn't been proven considering he's had only one solid season and his minutes mostly come against second stringers.

Whew. I thought I was the only one who wasn't buying into the hype. Thank you.

Nor sure where to put this but I read a report this morning that the Kings offered Thomas and the 8th pick for Bledsoe, which the Suns rejected. Just an FYI.

I tend to agree with you after looking over their stats. If Markieff keeps improving I think he's definitely the better option.

That trade wouldn't work. Salaries don't have to match 100% in S&T, but they need to be closer than a draft pick+ minimum player for a max contract. I suppose the Kings could throw in some players.

I am not a big Bledsoe fan, but I would not trade him for a pick that's not top 5. On the other hand, it may not be about what we get in return, but more about not giving a max contract to a walking injury. Either way, Thomas and #8 is probably not enough.

The new CBA made it more difficult for other teams to sign RFA. Its my understanding that they can't offer the poison packages they could before. The Suns have made it clear that they will match any offer so other teams aren't going to waste their time trying to sign him unless its a sign and trade and the Sun aren't going to bite unless they get equal value.

I'd strongly consider it if Bledsoe was lukewarm about staying in PHX. Gives the Suns even more leverage to move up if needed. (Although, Stauskas will probably be there at #8. And they seem to like him.) 8 and 14 might help get you into the top 5.

Thomas is also pretty underrated.
