Bill Simmons is speculating (read: fantasizing) that the Clippers could make a FA push for James if they dumped some of their role players, including DeAndre Jordan. If it actually comes to pass that the Clippers are open to moving Jordan for cap space and future picks, I want the Suns to be all over that.

Yes, please on Deandre Jordan. His freethrow shooting is infuriating, but he is everything I want and more on the defensive end. What would we have to give up? With cost in mind, would you prefer acquiring Jordan or Love?

HELL YES.

we've got picks and cap space and Jordan is a defensive dynamo. You put Bledsoe, Dragic, Jordan together and maybe make a push for a guy like (i know everyone's going to hate this) Melo and you've got a team that's ready to contend, IMO.

The warriors are now making Thompson available in trade talks for Love. If we want Love, we're going to have to include Dragic or Bledsoe.

This was a given all along. Minny is not going to give up Love for peanuts just because he says he wants out, despite how inept their front office may be (Saunders's comments were the icing on the cake, IMO). It would take one of Dragic or Bledsoe, both the Morris twins, and two draft picks to make it happen. Even with that, I don't think we're going to get Love.

I don't hate it. Melo, with some decent defensive players around him, would be a great asset.

I'm not sure we'd go after Jordan given McDonough's love fest for Alex Len.

Unless giving up dragic/bledsoe meant there was a chance in hell lebron would come to phx too, i'm not giving up either for love.

I try and go after greg monroe as a rfa or maybe horford in a trade. That still leaves enough cap room to go after a luol deng as well.

We would have a stacked starting lineup and a stacked bench. I would even say we are better than gs with love and minus thompson.

0% chances clips trade jordan w/ in the division, charlotte has cap room, that's where he will go.

If he passed on the chance to get a beast like Jordan because of Len, he should be run out if town on a rail.

That's a huge steal for the Warriors unless Martin and Barea have major negative value. Boston can offer so much more IMO.

Am I the only one that believes Minn. would have to be freaking idiots to make that deal? It seems like Minn should be getting way more and this deal looks lopsided in GS favor.

If that's the deal, I'm puzzled that Minnesota is including a pick, but otherwise it looks pretty balanced to me. Martin and Barea are pretty close to neutral value at their current contracts.

i go back and forth on it.

if it does happen, I look forward to LA radio freaking out as everyone here is still (delusionally) sure that the Lakers in two years will be made up of Kobe, Love and Durant. One more very good player officially off the market will just make the Lakers woes look funnier and funnier.

If the Suns sent say Morri and Dragic for Love and Martin are they really that much better? The Suns assets are their picks, they don't have enough talent to send a star to get one. The Suns need Dragic, Bledsoe AND a player like Love to get to the next level.

I just don't understand why Wolves would want Lee. 31 years old on a terrible contract. I suppose they think they can make some additional moves/ signings and make the playoffs perhaps?

I guess I'm looking at it from a talent perspective and it seems to me Thompson and Lee for Love would be a fair deal, but to throw in the others AND a late lottery pick just seems crazy to me.

LA fans seem to be the most ignorant fans. I too look forward to a few years from now and their continued babble about being back on top any day now.

Now ESPN is reporting the deal as Thompson, Lee, and 2014 first round pick for Love. That makes more sense to me.

I feel like Martin/Barea would have been part of a salary dump.

I'd have to think IF they sent Dragic, the thought would be that by getting Love, they could entice a super-duper-star to come here to play with him. Maybe as part of their pipe dream to get LeBron. We all know how much Bron loves Bledsoe. He's one of his boys. Maybe the idea there would be creating a big 3 of Bledsoe/Love/LeBron.

to be honest, a Bledsoe/Martin/LeBron/Love/Plumleee or Len starting five would be pretty damn good. Great defenders at the 1/3 with shooters like Martin and Love to spread the floor for LeBron and Bledsoe to wreak havoc attacking the rim. That's a bona-fide title contender. Same thing would go for a Dragic/Martin/Love/LeBron/Anyone starting 5 probably.

but all of the above is a pipe dream, IMO. We don't have the assets to match the GS offer (no matter what Slin thinks).

This is a better offer but it's still nowhere near enough. I'd hold onto Love if this was the best package available. I think Lee has negative value with his contract and Thompson just isn't that special. I don't see what they'd have to gain by making that deal now. I'd wait even if it meant risking losing him for nothing next year. At least they'd get one more season of value and if they made the playoffs who knows what would happen.

I don't think Green's market value is anywhere close to Klay's value so I'd leave him out of the deal. But I still think the Morris brothers along with three good picks from us beats the heck out of the Warriors offer. AFAIC, Lee has negative value and Thompson is decent but he's not special.
