No, I'm saying that it is ok for both of us to have the opinion. I never ones said that your opinion is wrong, you guys did. Again, the problem that I have is you guys saying that my opinion is wrong and I'm less of a fan.
You are a casual fan whether you sell your tickets or not. That was established a long time ago. Again, put your money where your mouth is. You have an opportunity to actually prove your point. Sell them off and watch on your marvelous HDTV.

Well, thank goodness I won't lose any sleep if you consider me any less of a fan.

Wait hold up... Why would you have a problem with people thinking your less of a fan? Look at the 1st post I quoted to you.. You made it perfectly clear you werent gonna lose sleep over it.. Now you have a "problem" with people thinking this way of you..

And then you wonder why you make no sense to people..Which is it dude? You dont care? Or you do care and have a problem with it?

2008-09 Arizona Cardinals: WE DO THIS TOGETHER *

* Unless you are offered at least 8x face value for your tickets. In that case we'll do it without you and you watch us from home.

I'm not sure Urban will be racing to add that voiceover to the commercial. :)

One, because it is against the rules of the site. Two because it is not true. Simple enough.

I wasn't just tossing "casual fan" out there as an insult. I've really got no beef with you - I was trying to make the point that a ticket to the game doesn't mean the same to you as it does to many of us. You'd sell it and watch from home. I wouldn't and many others wouldn't. You'd still see the game but you'd miss the experience of being at the game. There's a huge difference.

The offer is already out there. If you want to buy my ticket for 8x, we can meet somewhere, You can put your money out there.

There is a difference between losing sleep and defending yourself. I won't lose sleep because of what you think of my 'fandom.' I won't be afraid to defend myself against those that question it either. There is a difference between disagreeing and losing sleep.

BIM, why is this so black and white. Isn't there a middle ground between absolute rabid fanatic who needs tickets pried from cold dead hands and "casual fan". EVERYONE knows that on this site casual fan is an insult. Trying to say otherwise is disenguous at best.

look at the stuff that's been thrown the "casual fan's" POV... treason, leaving the scene of the crime, not caring all that much. it's complete and utter BS to call ANY of us here a casual fan. We might not all be "the Cardinals are the most important thing in the world" fans, but that doesn't mean anyone's casual about this.

lol .. ok.. whatever you say man.. typical dcr damage control tactics.. it gets to the point where youve become so entangled in your own words you have to try and define every little thing you say and make up definitions after the fact to try and save face..

i dont believe you, you need more people..

Maybe you didn't mean it as an insult (and I think you know that I don't have a problem with you) but being called a casual fan on here is usually construed as an insult, like cheesebeef said.

I love the experience at the game. I love getting headaches because I scream so loud at the game. For the price that I'm demanding for my tickets, I could get plane tickets to Europe.

Plane tickets to Europe cost more than $500 per person ..

And the fact you used the word "demanding" indicates you are actively trying to sell your tickets.. Not the, "if someone happened to offer me 8x" stance youve been saying..

LOL. I am not buying your tickets. I have tickets. Money is money. try to sell them to ssomeone who wants them. remember supply and demand? The fact you won't even attempt to sell them shows that you don't even believe in your worthless arguement, which is pretty much par for the course. Chalk this up to another example of DCR stirring the pot and playing devil's advocate. The next time you contribue to a Cardinals thread and actually talk football and not some other nonsense will be the first time. That is how everyone knows you are casual. It is what it is.

Go check ebay or stubhub guys... the Club seats are only going for $250 or so per seat...
Nobody will be paying DCR 8x face...

That said, it is alarming to see so many seats up for sale on ebay and stubhub... Should be another interesting Cowpuke game in the desert... Man I HATE those fans...

I've been here for a long time and never knew 'casual fan' was an insult...

I know the pecking order for my fandom and it is no where near most of the posters on this forum. If someone called me a casual fan I wouldn't have a problem with it since from their perspective I probably am. BIM is more of a fan than I am because he holds season tickets and would rather die than sell them to a cowboy fan. I would probably be right there with him but I don't have season tickets to begin with (of course I'm a out of towner but still). Hmmm... maybe I should start looking for a job in Phoenix!!!:D

DCR has tickets and he has a monetary value that he couldn't pass up. Unfortunately I would consider him less of a fan but I wouldn't begrudge him because of it. It was his choice simple as that and I would call it good. DCR is still more of a fan than I am IMO.

I bought extra seats when the new stadium opened. I have 4 seats so when my kids are old enough I can bring the entire family to the game.

However right now I just give the extra seats to friends or family. Although when the new schedule is announced I scan the home games and locate the teams with chumps willing to pay an arm and a leg for my extra two tickets. I have zero problem selling my extra two tickets for a massive profit.

It's going to pay for my playoff tickets!

There are fans who want to be in the stadium on game day and those that can watch just as easily from home. I was just trying to point out the difference.

If the Cards are home - I'm there.

To others, even season ticket holders, they might go or they might stay home and watch.

Casual: Unconstrained by rigid standards or ceremony

Someone who doesn't feel they have to be at every game would fit that description, eh?

Unless you are accessing this "chumps" in some other capacity other than ebay or stubhub, I just don't see anyone out there paying prices that would create these "massive profits"...

Wow you guys are something else. DCR I hear you man I am a long time fan and if someone offered me 8x the value I would save the headache make some money and watch the game at home. I see nothing wrong with it, it doesn't make you less of a fan to make some money off of a situation like the Cowgirls coming to town and some idiot willing to pay that much to go to a football game. I love football and I love the Cardinals but its just a game, their are many far more important things in my life and if the extra cash could help the family, well I am willing to watch the game on tv rather than being there live. It doesn't make you less of a fan, it makes you a person with higher priorities than a football game.

I say demand, because it is non-negotiable.

I know that. If someone wants to pay that crazy amount, I'm not going to stop them.

Again, like I said a couple of times already. I think that there are so many tickets for this game especially are available because of the policy that they had for ticket holders to buy the extra tickets. I feel that a good portion of those few thousand tickets bought by season ticket holders were done with scalping in mind. Would it make any difference at all if I (like MCD) had extra tickets to the game and sold them for 8X the value?

My tickets sold on Ebay in a matter of hours. A local scalper bought them from me.

Now remember I have the cheapest of cheap seats so getting 5X face value is very easy. $25 X 5 = $125. That $250 almost paid for one of my season tickets (minus the $5 per game fee).

So, are those that are understanding of selling off tickets indifferent to whether the stadium is filled with red or with blue? It sure seems that way.

I'm an out-of-towner so take my two cents for it's worth, 2 cents. But to me this is probably one of the TWO home games all year I would most like to see, the season-ender with Seattle being the second.

Does the scale of the game's importance and the opponent mean anything at all to the resellers?

The people who sat behind me the first season at UoP were Bears fans, who bought the ST's for that one game only, and sold the rest of the tickets on Stub Hub. The next year the tickets were bought by an agency.

Because of this, I am usually sitting in front of fans of the visiting team. I don't care for the situation (except when we win :)), but there isn't anything I can really do about it. So, I guess that the implied importance of the game doesn't really enter into equation for these seats. And I doubt that these seats are unique.

As for me, I can't control what other people do, all I can control is myself, so I don't worry about it all to much.

Last week, I couldn't go to the game so I gave them away to a Card fan. This week, I wouldn't sell them for any amount of money.

JTS

Okay, the "any amount of money" line is a lie. I would sell them for $100,000 if anyone would pay that amount. This might make me a *****, but at least I'm a high-priced *****, which is nice. :)
