You never signed a contract? Then you should be under no contract.

What kind of phone do you have? If you are eligible in October 2010, then you got your phone around Feb 09 right? Based on your rate plan you might be eligible for an annual upgrade in Feb 2010.

What type of price did you pay for that phone? If the phone price is cheap then you probably received a phone subsidy in exchange for an contract extension.

If you want, PM me your cell, I will look it up.

#1 - The Droid.

The iPhone 3GS finished # 4 behind a fan, and an e-reader.

This thing is just sick. I download something new just about every day.

I downloaded the cardiotrainer app. I take it with me on my runs now to track my route and calculate my pace, distance, avg pace, etc. It then uploads my workout to the web automatically. The google map is so ridiculously accurate that I can see when I hopped off the sidewalk into the street or when I had to dodge a parked car.

For those of you that have it, is there an easy way to transfer my contacts from Outlook to the droid?

With ease. It's almost too easy. From multiple sources. I accidentally downloaded all my Facebook contacts into my contact list, and now I have cell phone numbers ready to go for some of the best musicians on the planet. LOL. I bet they didn't realize they were giving away their personal information so easily.

Of course ETF's will get in the way, but I have always contended that the iPhone on VZW will be the slow death of AT&T.

I think that 50% or more of the new activations they do are iPhones if my friends are correct. If they do 5 million new adds this year then, by my math, 2.5 million of them had NO CHOICE but to pick their inferior network and the horrible capacity issues associated with AT&T. That is the price for the iPhone.

I wonder how many would choose the bigger network with the better speeds..... My guess is atleast half. And it will slowly increase as the years go by.

Thus ending the war.

From Boy Genius....

http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2009/12/18/verizon-wireless-prepares-for-iphone-probably-not/

It doesn’t look like the Verizon/iPhone rumors are and possibilities are ever going to end. While many of you Big Red subscribers would love to have the iPhone on your network, we’re not sure it looks like things are getting closer to materializing. When AT&T picked up the iPhone, some could say it wasn’t prepared for the massive spike in data usage and as a consequence, has been taking a lot of heat for that. With rumors flying that AT&T is losing its exclusivity deal with Apple soon, Verizon Wireless Chief Technology Officer Anthony Melone told BusinessWeek, “We have put things in place already. We are prepared to support that traffic.”

Of course, everyone knows that the iPhone only comes in one flavor: UMTS. Most analysts think a CDMA iPhone isn’t very practical given where Verizon’s technology is going, and we’d have to agree a straight CDMA only iPhone wouldn’t make sense. Does this mean the build out of LTE is getting done more rapidly? Or more specifically, will there be a LTE iPhone? Only time will tell with Apple, but for customers of the largest U.S. carrier, it’s reassuring to know that your network is ready for the iPhone. But we already knew that.

This will absolutely KILL the battery on the iPhone....And since you cant just "BUY" another battery and put it in............. :-/

Its hoping that when iPhone users switch from 3G to Wi-Fi regularly, the strain on the network will be lessened.

The move is essential to AT&T as Wi-Fi via wired broadband is much cheaper than 3G data transmission. It is estimated that as few as 12 iPhones streaming video can swamp a single iPhone tower, leading to Apple suggesting that terrorists could use unlocked iPhones as a dangerous weapon to our nation's communications.

http://www.eweek.com/c/a/Mobile-and...erred-Carrier-Sprint-ATandT-Rank-Last-588907/

Verizon Wireless was consumers’ top choice of mobile carrier, according to a cellular-industry focused survey from Consumer Reports. Other findings include that while iPhone remains a fan favorite, AT&T ranks low when it comes to customer satisfaction. High costs remain a leading complaint.

Verizon Wireless is having quite a year, it turns out.
Not only did it recently experience a win over disgruntled competitor AT&T, in being allowed to continue airing some cheeky ads, and then enjoy a jump in consumer opinion, but in a Dec. 1 statement, Consumer Reports revealed that Verizon was named the preferred carrier by the people it surveyed in 26 cities for its cell-phone-focused January issue.
“While AT&T’s main weak spot is voice connectivity, they also scored below average in every attribute except Web access and texting,” wrote Consumer Reports in the statement.

Can't you pile all of these into one post?
I guess I could..... They get super long though.

I think people get tired of long posts and don't read them all.

Of course.... People could also just be tired of me posting stuff in the first place. lol

OK.... Thought this was news worthy.....

WSJ: Verizon definitely getting the iPhone

If the Wall Street Journal is correct, AT&T’s iPhone monopoly is guaranteed to fizzle out at the end of this summer. According to people “briefed on the matter” a special CDMA version of the iPhone will be made starting this September by Pegatron Technology Corp., a subsidiary of ASUSTeK Computer Inc. To which company will this CDMA device be headed? None other than Verizon Wireless. Yeah. Holy crap. Definitely a blow to AT&T, but on the bright side, it too will be getting a new model, built once again by Hon Hai Precision Industry Co and most likely in June.

Android is the truth.... that is for sure. Wait until you see the "Incredible".

Currently though, 50% of all smartphone data is iPhone data. That is a huge chunk of switchers that can be won.

Also, 26% of all wireless users pick carriers based solely on the device itself. Not whether it will work where they want it. Another huge chunk of switchers.

Currently Verizon is the #1 carrier WITHOUT all of these customers. Imagine how much the divide could spread with one simple change.

In fact, it could signal the end of the carrier wars IMO.

If it DOES happen, I hope they don't brand the Iphone with a bunch of Verizon logos or screens.

Contract up with T-mobile...anyway I can get an unlimited plan with Verizon for under $100 per month? I use my phone mainly for business purposes, and see you can get a droid free through Wirefly, but would prefer to not spend $100 for wireless service, paying about $70 total now with T Mobile.

Sorry dude.... Unlimited plan is $70. SMS is another $20. Data is another $30. No discounts.

However, the 900 minute plan with 5 Friends and Family numbers does a dam fine job for most. Do you know where your minutes are at?

Also PM me if you want some info about Wirefly. It's a horrible place to buy a phone no matter what carrier you choose.

900 Minute plan? Don't know where this exists. Only option I see is 1400 with 10 friends and fam.

BS.

My wife is up in a month, and will get her Driod..I have mine and I freaking LOVE this phone. But with her getting one, we can't have our old Alltel plan of 500 minutes PLUS 10 friends and fam. So, we will pay a TON more to go to the 1400 minutes because we kill 700 minutes between our home to cell alone. A 900 minute plan with 5 friends and fam would be a GREAT plan for me, but I don't see it online, anywhere.

Clue me in, bro.
