I am dumbfounded... just dumbfounded... I do not understand this decision at all...

Of course you understand, he was wrong, screwed up last year, but cant admit it in public(do lawyers/sterns ever admit mistakes?). Stern doesnt care to explain anything, the news outlets are suppressing the event, because they know it would screw up the playoffs. The NBA wants to see the celtics in the finals, and they certainly dont want to mar the celts record turnaround season with a stupid rule, that kind of screwup shouldnt happen again. it shouldnt have happened int he first place. Note how all those who defended the NBA's action last year are quiet, very quiet. At least now every one knows, there is no standard for an "altercation" or the suspension of players who leave the bench.
