Wow, love the consistent ruling by the brain trusts of the NBA: David Stern and Stu Jackson. Essentially the same incident as last season with us, plus a bumping of an official by KG and nothing?!?! Stern is clearly the most incompetent commissioner in all of professional sports. I cant believe with all of the conspiracies and inconsistent rulings, he hasn't been run

I can't believe Kidd doesn't get a game off for his stunt. It was much worse than Bell's stiff arm on Kobe and he was given a game to think about it.

Weird, I saw the exact opposite. I'm certainly not calling you a liar, but it seemed to me like Perkins clearly came on court after the altercation had started. I'll have to watch it again, but in the clip I have seen you can't even see Perkins before the altercation.

Huh? I am really trying to be objective here. Truly i wish he would be suspended. First. He has clearly already got off the bench and standing on the line prior and as the shot is being made. No whistle yet. Hopefull everyone can agree on that. If not, then i wont even go on.
Second, it's my opinon that as hes hearing the whistle, hes giving the arm down motion like "FOUL". From his vantage point i dont think he coould even see how vicious Garnetts elbow was. At that very instant that he realized it could be more than a foul he stepped back with the help of the coach. Nothing like last year where amare and diaw where pushing forward AFTER and had to be held and pushed back.

I really wish it was a suspendable offense, i really do, but i dont see it that way. No offense intended towards anyone.

jesus man, you don't have any idea what happened in either case. Diaw RAN back on his own once the altercation began. I've got no beef with Amare's suspension. Dude's a freaking idiot, but to say Diaw was pushing forward AFTER is just as off-base as what your eyes are telling you with what happened in this game.

even you're Laker brethern are seeing something COMPLETELY opposite of you. Are you sure you're watching the right clip?

Not sure what being a laker fan has to do with it. I would love to be able to say...suspend him. I honestly don't see it that way.

just saying other "objective" people see it completely different than you do. that's what it has to do with it.

Maybe I confused Amare with Diaw. I was refering to the first guy being held back and still trying to charge. In that case, my bad. My point was that they came off the bench after nash went flying and this instance was a split second. Perkins never made a move towards the court once the altercartion started. Im not talking the hold or elbow which were fouls, I'm talking the aftermath as they headed toward each other. Now if the coach had to hold him back... i say you suspend him.

Answer these: Do you think amare and diaw's intentions as they got up and moved forward were to enter the fray?
Do you think Perkins was standing there to enter the fray?

Probably best to just let it go as its a touchy subject and again i meant no disrespect. I would love for both garnett and perkins to be suspended so by all means ill take your side and say suspend them.

Good luck in tonights game!!!

yeah thats the thing. nash gets hip-checked. split second, diaw & stat took off. so that's an altercation?

that's the thing about this stupid rule. diaw & stat took off before the bell & horry went into it. but what is the altercation? horry fouling nash? bell & horry?

the rule is dumb, its open for interpretation by us fans. but stern has the final say, he's stupid too. if the letter of the law says you cross the line, you get suspended. but perkins & the other guy dont get suspended.

in the suns case, its the letter of the law.

in the celtics, its open to interpretation...even though rules are rules.

i dont know...sorry for rambling.

cobbler, you started on this forum as a subtle troll who turned into a jackass, then you toned it down and actually contributed some rational thoughts, and now youre back to your old subtle trolling.

The last 5+ responses youve had here have been riddled with false interpretations and your opinions seem to bait passionate fans into engaging with you.

Cut it out.

No, no, and no. None of the players in either case intended to enter any fray. Since all the players had the means to enter the altercation and none of them did, that means that none of them intended to. There should have been no bench players suspended in either case. The league made the proper call in the BOS-ATL case, but royally screwed it up in the PHX-SAS case. The painful thing is that Stern acts like they had to enforce the rule the first time but not the second. It's even sadder when you consider that the Suns players advanced _before_ the altercation and the Bos-Atl players actually advanced _after_ the altercation.

Im so sick of mods grouping "different opinions" with "ignorant baiting." It's counterproductive to the website.

Look....i originally came here as a response to someone here posting on a laker board how the suns were going to kick the lakers butts again because you got shaq. Yes, i came on to make fun of the trade as i am not a shaq fan and i feel it was a terrible trade for you. I got to see that some people here actually have some good conversations about bball and i enjoy them. I have never relented pointing out the people that cannot get over the conspiricy theories and/or ref bias posts. One of which is you. If that makes me a Jackass, then im a jackass. I can live with that as i could care less what you personally think of me. I stated my opinion on the perkins thing. I even commented several times that i wish he was suspended and meant no disrespect to any of you. I am simply calling it as i saw it. Donald said the same and nobody jumped on him.

So, you can go all into your trolling BS and calling me a jackass all you want. I am going to post my honest and objective opinions and you can deal with it or not. That is your choice.

Funny, I never hear squat as you are throwing your team under the bus and giving up on them and im encouraging you all to hang with them and never give up. I want you guys to win. Im a huge Nash fan. But i also want our team to oust you in the WCF.

In no way was i trying to bait anyone in this conversation today! Maybe you should stop dwelling on the past and deal with the present? It might be an epifany for you. Get over yourself!

Well first of all, the term "objective opinion" contradicts itself. That's all you're getting from me, as I'm not going to hijack this thread any further to point out your glaring flaws and hypocrisies.

Of course not. As always, you can call me a liar, a jackass, a troll, a baiter and i ask you to back it up and tell me where i lied and you have nothing but a semantic mistake. You can exhange the word observation for opinion...and you knew what i meant anyway. So in reality, whos the real baiter here? Whos the one resorting to personal name calling?

How about this.... Let's just for the sake of argument say I did come here to bait YOU. It's not true, but for your sake we will assume that. You continue to argue with me. FOr what reason im not really sure. So, in essence, if you consider me a baiter, why would you let yourself be drawn in by my posts and get so upset by them? That doesnt say much for you does it?

Simply put. If i post here and you agree with my opinions or i agree with yours, im ok. However, if i see something differently, dont agree with your constant whining, then im a baiting, lying, jackass troll.

How pathetic is that?

You sir will never get another response from me.....

I'm still completely in shock that the league office ruled that there wasn't an altercation there. Multiple techs, shoving of the ref, but no..no altercation.

It was ten times the altercation of the Suns/Spurs last year and ZaZa had his freaking head into KGs and said (and I lipreadquote "I'll fu.. you up") and KG says "get the ef off me" to the ref he shoves.

But no, that wasn't an altercation.

Wild.

And for the record, I see the Perkins thing the same way as cobbler, but I also thought Diaw got a bum deal in the suspension last year, and thought Amare was deserving.
