Nash and Gortat for Rondo

I would do it in a heartbeat.

Good god no. If Morris didn't turn into anything and all you had was Lopez....it would be a disaster. Add that with his tendency to run at the mouth...he would demand a trade within 2 years.

Nash and Lopez or Nash and Frye or something like that I would pull the trigger on.

(1) No one wants to trade Gortat for nothing, and I dont think slin implies Suns trade Gortat for nothing.

Gortat will only be traded for the right deal, and a right deal will involve a package that involves high pick(s), young high potential players or massive cap room which is needed for a good signing for the Suns.

(2) Having Gortat as Suns best player = DOOM, No point of having a decent Center but having ROLE players around him.

I have to say, I'm a little wary of trading Gortat at all just because I'm really looking forward to seeing a full season of him. I mean...a full partial season.

I just commented on our D'backs site about Magic Johnson leading an ownership group trying to purchase the Dodgers because of his affection for the team.

Maybe the Suns great Point Guards -- DJ, Kidd and Nash -- can put together an ownership group to get rid of Sarver for the same reason.

I think we'd have to wait a long time for 2 active players and one dead guy to scrape up the cash to buy the Suns.

Oops, I meant KJ.

Dennis Johnson was the Suns Point Guard by default, anyway.

Here is the plan that they have to consider.

Top priority: Two lottery picks in this year's draft. One will be the Suns pick (no, you don't tank, but you do trade away talent to get another lotto pick. Everyone should be available to get that pick. The one I would target would be the Minny pick that the Clips own. Nash, Dudley, Frye, Pietrius, Lopez, etc. should be availabe. The only players I would make untouchable would be Gortat and the rookie. The Clips would probably not be interested in Gortat anyway. We could provide them with cap space to sign Howard or Paul.

Second priority: Enough cap space to sign one quality free agent. We do not need enough to sign two. Gortat, plus two lotto picks, plus top free agent, should be the start of a good nucleus.
