Answered your own question there. I often debate whether Detroit is or Philly is worse. While on one hand Detroit is in a much worse economic decline, their fans do behave like human beings for the most part.
Detroit has great fans. Anyone who has followed that team over the years and hasn't killed themselves or others is a strong and well-centered individual. Iggle fans are gross.

When Jake threw the game winning TD in Veterans stadium my wife and I ran out of the stadium.

Philly fans are very consistant.

I thought it was funny too. They were snowballs not boulders and no, I dont care if that makes my sense of humor 'sick'. Going to a Eagle game during a snowstorm and wearing the other teams jersey = Getting hit by snowballs. It's probably already a disclaimer on the back of the ticket. lol

Philly fans have done a LOT worse than this, I actually think this was them being tame.

Maybe it's my dutch soccer background where opposing fans are unable to attend away games because they'll usually end up at the doctor's or worse (and therefore aren't allowed to attend). One of the stupid things of the society i live in....

But I think this is pretty funny. No real harm done.
I was thinking the same thing. The thing I love about footie (soccer) is the tension between the fans. I would hate it if we were mixed in together. That's not to say I condone hooliganism or fighting but this was only a bit of snow.
My team are playing our most hated rivals on Jan 3rd for the first time in 6 years. I can't f-ing wait! Snow is better than a cup of piss that used to be thrown at footie games.

Are you guys freaking KIDDING ME??? Good lord, the people got pelted by SNOWBALLS. Nobody urinated on them. Nobody fought them. They got snowballed. Who gives a crap?

I WISH our fans were HALF this intolerant of opposing fans.

Usually I think Philly fans are douches and throwing batteries and such is so out of control it isn't funny, but calling them out for this is ridiculous.

I am 100 percent on the side of the Philly fans here, and I think it's hilarious. It's more funny because they are niner fans, so it gets a deep belly laugh to boot.

It's not just the Philly area it's most of the state of Pennsylvania. Most residents are pretty much a**holes and I live here. I call Philly Filthadelphia because it's such a dirty, scumy town.

I was in Philadelphia last weekend and I had a great time. I wore some bit of Cardinals gear pretty much every where I went during the day. I went to the Army-Navy game at LFF with a Cardinal hoodie and beanie and a Sixers game the night before wearing Cardinals gear and I only got a couple comments but nothing that bad at all. I was actually disapointed since I was looking forward to a little good natured junk talking.

Granted this was not the same as going to an Eagles game all Cardinal'd up but I was really surprised by the lack of a reaction. One guy actually gave teh Cards props for the beatdown of Minny. I did get A LOT of strange looks but hardly anyone said anything. The weather wasn't that bad, the food and local brews were AWESOME, nightlife was good, the people I came in contact with were pretty cool (save one nutjob cab driver), so I have no complaints about the city or the folks there.

That's always been my experience too D. I love Philly! It's a tremendous little big city! Fantastic night life with incredible eats and fun clubs. And I love the historical artifacts all over the city!

I know this probably has a lot to do with the fact that I live in MD and the Wizards are a joke, but IMO most NBA fans are idiots. The teams change every year and most of the players are thugs, *******, losers or morons. Admittedly, the same could easily be said about the NFL, but again this is what years of watching the Wizards/Bullets disaster will do to you.

Man back in the years of Unseld, Hayes, Witherspoon, Monroe, they even had Dave Bing for a while. Don't even follow the NBA anymore. Bullets used to be my team. The historic battles with the Knicks. Unseld and Reed. BUnch of prima donas now and they play by a different set of rules than real basketball rules.

Yeah, I'm only 24 so I missed those guys.

Instead I was blessed with the pleasure of watching Gheorghe Muresan, pre-prime Chris Webber, Dwight Howard, Rod Strickland, (an old) Mitch Richmond, a young undeveloped Tom Gugliotta, pre-prime Rasheed Wallace, pre-prime Ben Wallace, pre-prime Richard Hamilton, post-prime-but still always worth watching Jordan and the current mess of Gilbert "I haven't shot in the last 20 seconds so I better throw one up" Arenas, Antwan "De-what" Jamison and Caron "How the F did the Lakers send me here" Butler.

Did any snowballs hit any players or officials?
I believe some of the balls even hit the Eagles fans on the sidelines when one of the SF player was knocked out of bound that side and people starting throwing snowballs at the SF players. The Ealges players started to wave at people to calm down. "Out of class" is an understatement.

Anyone who thinks that that kind of behavior is acceptable needs their freaking head examined.

Nobody has made it clear why it is wrong though. It's a bit of snow for christs sake.

No it's not just "a bit" of snow. The mere fact that you need it explained to you says it all.

IMO Verbally harassing fans is one thing and acceptable but throwing stuff, threatening etc goes too far. It is a GAME after all.
