You’re right. I do have a crappy attitude when someone is demonstrably proven wrong (like you were with the Cardinals link/quote I posted the first time) and they still won’t admit it until so much redundant proof is offered to them that they have no choice to finally admit fault.

Having to pull teeth and nails before someone gets to the point of admitting they’re wrong is a massive failing of society at this point, so when I see that, it makes me sad and pisses me off.

Cut the crap. You responded to my post by saying 'What are you talking about?' Your attitude was there from the beginning. Don't act like it wasn't, or that this type of response from you isn't out of the norm. So spare me the fact that you only had an attitude because you 'had to prove me wrong.'

Furthermore, it was clear that I mis-remembered. It was also clear that I said I thought. Having 3 teams all finish with a 9-7 record, it would at least make some sense that they would still not necessarily be mathematically eliminated... but hey, kudos to you being right and me being wrong.

Ugh. Reading the scouting reports from some good analysts makes me think I am looking at a different draft class. Starting to fear the Cardinals will be trading back if they can.

All those reports that 15 to 45 is all about the same quality.

I on the other hand would try to get our 48 up to 31 or 32. That fifth year is huge...and you know very well we are in over analyze season...but come April 90% of the top 30 will be the same guys they were in December

Basically, it Carter then Graham and then a large group of flawed players to navigate.

I think it's just system related. Some teams like prototypes and others like tweeners. Guys need development to be well rounded sure.
But how good would Graham look in a system that required him to stay home and cover his gap?
I like this draft because there seem to be system fits for a variety of schemes.

I think a trade back is likely also. The Cards only have 5 picks, correct? I can see Monti wanting to acquire more. I don't think a trade back is a bad idea. The talent level is pretty even in the mid 1st to mid 2nd rounds. The kids from Marshall or Ole Miss in the late 1st/ early 2nd could easily turn out better than Pearce, Walker or Williams.
At edge after Carter, I'm not sure where the big talent drop off is in this draft. To me, after Carter, McMillan, Hunter and maybe Graham, you could make an argument for numerous guys at each position of who is best and who the next 4-5 are.

I wouldn’t say “flawed.” Several of these guys need to develop better technique. Every pick is a projection. The few at the top have enough polish to project them starting immediately. The rest need some degree of improvement. The players available at 16 typically require less development than those lower in the draft and may be immediately useful situationally. Pass rushers often fit that description. The exception in this draft might be DTs. If Grant is there at 16 he can likely play immediately though probably as part of a rotation. Nolan figures to play early on running downs. Harmon maybe more in passing situation. Of course some positions often not targeted early, like RBs, can often play immediately. If you want one of those at 16 you can often get the top of the pool.

I'd have to break out the Draft Picks jersey, because why not continue to trade back and draft lesser talent than stick and pick and get better talent? lol

I don't doubt this will be Monti's approach again. He's going to trade down himself out of a job eventually.

yep

if you look at the NFL.com ratings for the defensive players in that range, they all score in the "will eventually be a NFL starter".

I think everyones' expectations for a player at #16 are way higher than "eventually a starter"
