    James Jones & luxury tax

They are actually not in the same situation. Robert Sarver: $400 million net worth Paul Allen: $18-20 billion net worth Portland is trying to build a contender around Oden, and will spend to do it. And while the luxury tax does receive consideration, I doubt the Blazers are forced to...

Kidd close to being a Maverick again

Context is important. If this is even true, think about who was available at the time. Big ticket > MVNot. Who wouldn't lobby?

    Who should back up Shaq?

It will be matchup based. If another big body is needed, obviously Skinner gets the nod off the bench. If the team is lacking energy and coach sees speed as the answer, he'll put Amare at center and go current-Suns-style. There won't be a set order in my opinion.

Kidd close to being a Maverick again

I'm not a Cuban fan, but it's clear to me that this guy just wants to win. I can't help but doubt the marketability angle. He saw what many others saw. Dallas offense was stagnant as hell. Jason Kidd seems like the sort of team leader and passer that they sorely needed out of their point...

Kurt Thomas is officially on the block

What would either of those teams offer that Seattle would want? Seattle wants talent if they are going to trade an expiring contract. And this is especially true since they want to keep their costs toward the lower end as they figure out where the new home will be for the team. Kurt is a nice...

    Shawn King Marion trade

So I guess rebounding is still not an issue? We already lost Kurt Thomas for a downgrade in rebounding in Skinner. Now you want to trade our best rebounder for someone who averages nearly half of what Marion does. Marion was efficient for us against San Antonio last year, it was Barbosa...

    Forbe's ranks teams by value

And the Spurs aren't $170-180 million dollars in debt.

    Banks trade

Everyone would do that trade except Cleveland and Varejao. With the way big men are overvalued by attrition, that trade costs us Barbosa at the very least.

    Suns at Warriors Game Thread

San Antonio is down 10+ in the fourth. Dallas is on a three game crap streak. Damn, contenders are dropping out daily! Guess it's pretty much Boston left as a "champion"? Pathetic.

Tom Leander is hard to listen to.

I love Eddie Johnson. If it weren't for him I'd probably mute the TV and listen to the radio-cast. Props to EJ, he's the man. I like Tom Leander, but some of his -ism's could definitely go away. The two main ones off the top of my head are: "Elevates and detonates!" - bothers me the...

    Good ole Mavs

Hard to hate on Dallas when we can't do it either. :)

    Trade Shawn to Clips

Why are you trying to destroy what little defensive hope we have? :)

    Brad Miller a Possibility?

Salaries are pretty far off. And as for Brad Miller, I think Sac town would love to get rid of him. There just aren't any takers.

    Suns at Sonics Game Thread

I agree 7 is too many for Grant...but he shot over 40% in the preseason, so I don't blame him for trying his hand at the threes when it counts. He's smart enough to adjust when needed. Plus, it was one game. If he'd hit 3 of his 7 attempts people would be drooling over him. Bell only hit 2...

    Chicago Sun-Times: Suns/Bulls/Lakers trade?

I don't think that'll happen exactly that way. If we downgrade talent now, we downgrade our chance of winning a title. We wait and try to win later in that case, but Nash is only getting older. I say keep Marion and go for the elusive title that Phoenix can't seem to win. Then, if he walks...

    TUCKER on INACTIVE list???

I believe in Coach's mind, DJ has earned his minutes based on what he's done in preseason with his defense and PG play. Tucker has a less defined role at this point. The D-League isn't a huge insult, it's a chance for a player to get playing time on a team when the minutes aren't there...

    TUCKER on INACTIVE list???

Maybe not, but I still think coach could put him there whether we believe he's "worthy" or not.

    TUCKER on INACTIVE list???

The fact that he's a 1st round pick does not earn him any cred. with regard to playing over someone else, say Strawberry, who coach D'Antoni may say can fill more of a defined role at this point. Maybe it would on another team, but not this one. I don't see him getting a single minute of...

    Question

Actually, if it appears that Marion is going to bolt on us then it might give us a small window to ease the burden (though I imagine a sign-and-trade would be used). They have a $2.9mil TE that expires 7/11, and an $8.1mil TE that expires 7/20. Without Marion's salary on the books, they'd be...

If this was Minnesota's attempt at addition by subtraction regarding Davis and Blount, someone should have told them 'bout Walker.

    Suns As A Fantasy Team

Suns do give some rebounds, but it is skewed because of their pace. While they aren't that good of a rebounding team, because the totals are high they can be decent for fantasy.
