Memphis might just be a better team without Gay, but you cant deny Rudy as one of the best closer

Awesome. Spurs didn't know what hit them when Battier hit the 3. I almost cried tears of joy.

If Spurs dont get a healthy Manu back next game, Grizzlies take this 5. Duncan is going to get tired as series goes on, Heck... he was only effective in the first half.

Yeah we will see. I think memphis will win this series if manu is out or not healthy. SA doesn't lose often at home and the grizz earned that game. I would be concerned if I'm the spurs. you have wonder how bad the ginobli injury is for him to be on the side in a playoff game. they are making it seem like he is ok, but if he were he would have been out there right?

I thought it was over after bonner hit those back to back 3's to take the 2 pt lead.. I ran to the kitchen and came back just to hear the TV screaming that Battier hit a 3.. Come back and see Memphis up by 1..

WOW.. Memphis wins their first playoff game and San Antonio has lost 5 straight playoff games.

You also have to consider a Memphis team who were playing their fist playoff game....away from home. it is a huge win for them against a motivated Spurs team who has something to prove playing at home.

Hornets playing their asses off for nothing. We all know LA will win this.

Kobe is a great actor.

Why do the lakers always have the last shot of the period, game, or half? They really try to always get that last shot.. Just like right now.. 2 intentional fouls and chris paul with 6 seconds left just so the lakers get the last shot.

They got lucky CP3 missed both free throws there.

yeah missed a lot of free throws and still won. the lakers played very poorly. chris paul was great.

kobe played ok, but gasol, bynum, and odom got worked by the hornets. how does bynum lose that tip to grey? i mean was he even trying out there? I thought he could jump better than that. maybe his knee isn't 100%

That's the blueprint for beating the Lakers. Let Kobe try and shoot the team to victory. He had 26 FG attempts. The magic number is 21 (statistics show the Lakers winning percentage goes down significantly when he shoots 21 or more shots).

Out of Odom, Gasol, and Bynum, if you can get 2 of the 3 to struggle, you have a good chance of winning.

Awesome loss Lakers! Way to go! Kobe with two choke jobs near the end there. Really fun to watch.

I feel bad for Dwight Howard. The rest of that team is either inconsistent or consistently awful.

With under 10 seconds to go and NY down by 2, Anthony gets the ball and dribbles until the last second before launching a low-percentage, 28-foot three point shot with the defender right on him. Their most effective player Stoudemire doesn't touch the ball. Knicks lose. 'Melo finishes with 15 points on 5-18 shooting and 5 turnovers. NY will soon find out what Denver figured out long ago.

If J-Rich keeps playing like he played yesterday, we might be able to sign him cheap this summer. He looked worse than Vince Carter.

I have to ask. If J-Rich continues playing worse than Vince Carter, why would we want to bring him back, no matter how cheap it would be?

Worse? JRich is not playing worse than Carter. He had a bad game one but that doesn't mean overall he is worse than Carter. Second, JRich fits this system perfectly. It's no coincidence that his numbers went down after playing in a more methodical system in Orlando than in Phoenix.

^Yeah thats bull. I don't know what it is but the refs always ignore everyone and act as if nothing happened.. Even if they know they made the wrong call they keep going along.. Do they not like changing calls because they were wrong and don't want to look bad?

Carmelo Anthony pretty much single handedly killed the Knicks in the 2nd half. He was beyond terrible, he played terrible defense and he took terrible shots. Why they would give him the ball and let him force a three when the Knicks were only down 2 and Amare had been completely dominating in the 4th, is beyond me...

It's D'Antoni. He never has had, and apparently never will have, control over his team.

I was astonished by that too. I turned the game on with maybe three minutes left and Stoudemire never touched the ball. It was only after the game that I looked at the box score and saw that he had been very productive, while Anthony was just throwing up bricks all game.

I feel bad for Stoudemire. The Knicks are far, far away from contending, and most likely his knees will blow up again before they can put a supporting cast together. In the meantime, he has to watch Anthony undermine the momentum that he and Felton had just started to build.

On a related note, Gallinari might really turn into something. I guess I hadn't watched him play before, but he looks really smooth, and even though he's much taller than I realized, he doesn't look lanky. He's sort of like a taller, healthier Chris Mullin.
