3 Years $25.1 Million (5Million, 5.2Million and 15Million) Poison bill deal. Stupid move by the Rockets in my opinion.

They should have just drafted Zeller. Instead they draft Royce White and Terrence Jones to go along with Patterson and Scola. $8 million per for Asik or $2 million per Zeller?

If the Suns can't nab one of their main targets at a decent price, the best thing for them to do is to sit back and watch everyone spend. Babby has given a lot of lip service to not making brash decisions in free agency and strategically maneuvering within the new CBA. There are too many teams with cap space this summer especially in light of the amnesty that overspending is guaranteed. Let all the teams blow their wad this offseason on average talent, and maybe the Suns can be one of a few teams next year with cap space, not to mention the ability to manipulate those who put themselves in cap hell.
Yup I agree.

Sam Amick: Source confirms point guard Andre Miller has agreed to return to Denver on a three-year deal. http://twitter.com/sam_amick/statuses/219619019349700608
Marc J. Spears: Spurs Tim Duncan having good contractual talks with SA about re-signing & its very unlikely he will consider another team, sources told Y!

Not sure why would help NY do this..
If they landed Nash via a sign-and-trade with Phoenix, the Knicks would not bepart with point guard Iman Shumpert, who the Suns liked in last year's draft. New York is willing to part with a package that features Landry Fields, Toney Douglas, $3 million and the non-guaranteed salaries of Dan Gadzuric and Jerome Jordan. Fields is a restricted free agent who could be signed to a deal while Douglas' contract could be seen as an expiring contract whose salary is more than covered by the cash component. The Suns could waive Gadzuric and Jordan at no cost.

Have the Knicks throw in a lottery-protected first and it's a deal. I have no interest in Douglas, but Fields could amount to something.

If this is the pile of cr.. that they are offering, I would hold out for a first round pick to be added to the deal. We would be doing them a huge favor. They would ,ot be able to offer Nash the amount he needs unless we do a sign and trade.

Maybe a draft pick would be sent to Phoenix as well or the Suns really like Fields and Douglas as roster additions.

I am pretty sure the Knicks cant give away another 1st rounder until 2018.

Okay by me. The Suns can't contend before then anyway, plus probably the Knicks will be in a down-cycle six years from now.

Michael Beasley? Seriously? That better be a short, inexpensive deal if they make an offer to him. I mean are we looking for people who can't defend at this point? Our management is just daring me not to watch at all this upcoming season. Maybe they are doing this for the more casual Phoenix Suns fan who just wants to think that they went after free agents this summer.

he'd be a solid pick-up for that team.

if they somehow get Chauncey back, and sign Crawford, on top of getting Odom, this team might seriously challenge for the NBA title next year.

Paul
Billups
Butler
Griffin
Jordan

with a bench of:

Odom
Crawford
Bledsoe
Evans

has a really good mix of vets/young talent and can be pretty damn versatile.

Yeah, on paper that would be the 2nd best team in the west. I know teams like Odom coming off the bench, but he's definitely better than Butler, and could be a much better fit to guard the Durants of the world than anyone they currently have.

I just hope we trade Gortat before his value plummets without Nash feeding him.

Assuming his value plummets at all. Players have been traded or moved on to other teams and been given good contracts despite knowing Nash wouldn't be feeding them. He is either a good center or he is not. I think most coaches are smart enough to figure that out. Most of them also are not making the ridiculous conclusion that you are that Nash feeds all of Gortats points or forgets that no matter what Gortat still has to have the skill to put it in the bucket.

Gortat's stats in games where Nash didn't play:

16 pts, 10 rebounds

I wouldn't say that's too much of a drop off unless you have really high expectations.

Plus it's statistically impossible even in the game with Nash for him to get 8 assists and make the ridiculous assumption they all go to Gortat.

He also shot like 44% in those games which is awful for a center.

He also shot worse the later those games were in the year. He was visibly tired late in the year. Did Poland qualify for the Olympics? Is he playing this summer? Regardless, I expect to see his numbers drop on the offensive end. He's not a low post guy you can give the ball to and say, "Hey, Polish Hammer, go get us 2." His rebounds will be the same. Especially if we surround him with Morris & Beasley.
