As the Orlando Magic work to unload superstar Dwight Howard, management is becoming increasingly focused on a potential trade package centered on Los Angeles Lakers All-Star center Andrew Bynum, league sources told Yahoo! Sports
I was hoping Howard would stay in the East.

you just know when all is said and done, Dwight ends up going to the Lakers. that's just how the NBA is. If there's a dominant big man in the game, he has to be a Laker.

I hope his back problems never get better if that's the case. does that make me an *******? yes it does and i'm okay with that.

Yeah, nobody who's interested can match the Bynum offer unfortunately. I don't know why Howard is not interested in LA, is Kobe that much of an ******? And if he is so what? D12 would run that town within months due to Kobe's declining skills.

Rumor is that Kobe told Dwight that he "would be his Tyson Chandler" and Dwight didn't like that and that's why Lakers aren't on his list. Lol if true.

Kobe's an idiot. He also told Dwight he'd be the number 3 option behind Pau as well.

make no mistake, I think Howard ends up there whether he likes it or not. Bynum is BY FAR the best player out there to make a swap for and I believe the Lakers believe those 16 banners and the LA lifestyle will chnage Dwight's feeble mind once he gets there... and they're probably right.

I agree it's the only trade that makes sense right not and has all along. If I were orlando there is no way I would trade him to the nets for that deal. They can get some type of value for dwight and let dwight be a rental somewhere. I think the lakers would be stupid not to do that deal if they can sign him to a 100 million dollar contract. But rumors say the buss family does not want to trade bynum?

Bynum may be the best talent they can get back but he is also in the last year of his deal and would need to agree to an extension, otherwise there is little point in the trade. And how much would the Magic be comfortable paying Bynum?

I think rental packages from GSW or Houston may be better in the long run even if they don't match Bynum in terms of talent.

the Buss' are idiots. Bynum is a very good C, make no mistake about it, but he's not the defensive difference maker that Howard is.

That team would get back to the Finals and give us one great Kobe v. LeBron showdown in the Finals that I'm dying to see before Kobe's body goes caput on him.

no way. I thin Bynum signs that deal immediately. The stupid kid wants his own team badly and he knows with his injury history, he's just one bad play away from never seeing that next uber-Max deal.

Bynum's injury history is a huge question mark. But given Dwight's list, there aren't many options and something is better than nothing.

I don't want to see Howard in a Lakers jersey, but it would be interesting to see how he handles the pressure of playing with Kobe, and in a market that expects championships. It would be interesting seeing him handle the pressure in New York as well. He does seem to be listening to the criticisms...

Coro states that no Suns offer has been made to Nash to this point.

Jerry Buss is a great owner. His son Jim, who's running the show now, is an idiot.

Rumors have it the Rockets have offered Lin 3 years 24mil and that was the same offer Dragic turned down.

First off I know the Lin hype got crazy last year but how can you give someone who has only seen meaningful minutes in roughly 20-25 games 8mil per? Even in the games he did well in he turned the ball over like crazy.

Second, if Dragic is turning his nose at 8mil per I don't want to be the team that signs him for what he's looking for(wouldn't even want him at 8mil unless there was a team option on the 3rd year).

I don't think you've looked too hard!

I didn't -- I saw it wasn't posted in the last 2-3 pages of this thread (unless I missed it - twice) and didn't see any other threads that obviously addressed it based on the title (unless it was in the thread about the Coro article). Apologies if I was repeating old news, but figured it was newsworthy and this has been the most active thread on the Suns board.

Deron 5 years 100mil to the Nets according to Adrian Wojnarowski. Will be interesting to see what Dallas does.

can Dallas do anything? They have no tradable assets, Dirk's an old man. that team is SCREWED.

i think it's pretty hilarious Cuban to blow-up a team that just won a title to hopefully be a player in FA and will end up with nothing to show for it... or maybe just the MUCH older version of Nash-Dirk that he refused to sign up for 8 years ago.
