Pretty sure the reddit and UT/247 guy are the same person or just copied the info. I have access because of a 247 membership but not sure if it’s open to see.

Could be, but also a different source on hornsports from what I've read. The reddit and 247 were posted a couple hours apart. I know how well connected a lot of folks are into TX CFB, I'm certain someone has heard and leaked something, but as of now, it's all hearsay.

It’s not Wednesday or maybe they make it official next Wednesday lol :mrgreen::lol:

If Michael & Keim offered him a deal before even meeting then maybe Mitch is right!

I miss Wednesday Bucky, believe me. Think about it often...and yes Gator, I know it's a far out chance, but I have nothing better to believe at the moment. I'm gonna buy in until I know it isn't true, because it's certainly more exciting than anything that this season offered.

Okay, I have been holding out on everyone. I had a roommate in law school from Texas. I had another very close friend from law school who dated an NFL owner’s daughter (who was my classmate and via my friend’s relationship at least tangentially my friend as well). He is prone to seriousness. Both of them from different sources are reporting Kliff will be joining the cardinals.

Just kidding. I have no inside source. Sometimes the internet is dumb. I know we have to post all these wild hares, but my god we are gonna be chasing a lot of red herrings.

This is one of the reasons I was hoping for a full house cleaning. Any prudent candidate would have to think Keim is on shaky ground and unlikely to survive another down year, which either means the new coach being dismissed as well or having the specter of not being the new GM's "guy' hanging over him.

I can also see Keim making desperation signings in FA to save his job.

That’s interesting. I know some people here mentioned him a while ago. I think the thing with these young guys is you need to have some age/experience on their staff as a sort of mentor.
Not enough experience at HC

I think they can say the same about the other 7 HC vacancies that the GM is on shaky ground? At least with keim, Mike publicly supported his GM.

Totally agree, the only issue is if you clean house, you have to run an exhaustive GM search and THEN have the new GM do the same kind of intensive search for "his" guy...unfortunately, with as many HC openings we would be assuming a lot of risk hoping there would be a quality coach left.

That is why I was hopeful they would have canned both DURING the season and we could have had the new GM on board, actively running the coach search while the season was wrapping up.

We are stuck with Keim, he has no excuses, he has the cap space and draft position to quickly shore this up.

And how does one get experience at Head Coach without becoming one?

You find a situation where you are the best option for that time and place.

So, a little luck, a little self-salesmanship, and persistence.

Steve Wilks pulled it off last year, he just wasn't ready, and/or found himself in a worse case scenario.

Now that he has head coaching experience, it will help him in the long run.

Fun Fact about Steve Wilks, for some reason, I HAVE NOT IDEA WHY, I clicked on a rotoworld forum link about head coaches, and a Panthers fan was complaining about Ron Riviera........he had, word for word, the same complaints about Riviera as we do for Wilks. So, there is that.

I think Luke Keuchley is to Riviera as Kurt Warner was to Whisenhunt.
