3 of the first 4 on the road is total horse s***, IMO. Wasn't the new stadium supposed to prevent that from happening every year?

I see another 8-8 year at this point.

If the Cardinals don't start winning some games on the road, it really doesn't matter when they are played. 2-6 ain't gonna cut it.

No reason they can't start fast and go 3 and 1 or 4 and 0. All of the first four should be winnable. I'd rather play the Jets early, hopefully before all their new acquistions start to mesh together well. And with Martz' complicated offense, I'd really rather play them week one, before he has his whole offense in place.

I am actually glad we are taking some of our 2 furthest road games in the first 4 weeks. Better to do it earlier rather then later IMO. Especially before those two area's get really cold in the later parts of the year.

It's a rough finish. The Cards close with four teams that have the potential to be good to great, the Rams were badly hurt last year and could bounce back.
The Giants and Philly late are no picnic either. Last year's schedule was front-loaded, this year's looks back-loaded.

If the teams on the schedule play like they should, the Cardinals will have to be no worse than 3-3 at the bye or they have no prayer.

I think they can play the NFC Central, AFC Central, AFC West and AFC South and limit the number of east-coast roadies they have to take. It's just really problematic that this season we play the AFC East and the NFC East.

I'd be happier if we were playing the Cowboys in Dallas and either Philly or Washington in Phoenix.

There's nothing you can do when you play against the AFC East, unless you hope for a late-season game in Miami, where the weather, at least, won't be as big a factor.

Are you out of your mind? I've been a Cards fan since the early '70's and the Cards have alot of trouble winning in Dallas. Over the years I think we have beat them maybe 5 times since then. If we can beat Dallas and get to 4-2 early in the season the confidence of this team will be sky high. Early on in the season your team cannot get behind the eight ball because your trying to get to .500. We need a good start, for a change. It's called conifidence. I'm happy we play Dallas early and in our nest!!!! I live in Dallas and I will assure you there isn't one Cowpies fan here that respects the Cards.

I kid, I kid.

Still that is a pretty good schedule right there. More than enough of a oppourtunity to make it to the playoffs.

The Dallas at home game is HUGE

Man. This schedule makes me feel ill. I hope the Cards can break their streak of blowing nationally televised games. I think I will be leaving the in-laws' house early to be alone to watch on Thanksgiving.

Additional Tidbits

First of all, the Buffalo at Cardinal game is shown on the team sched as a 4:15 pm game, so I'm guessing the 1pm on the week by week overall sked was a typo.

Second, you can throw strength of schedule and "when we play who" out the window, because (a) every year there are (positive and negative) surprises involving so-called "can't miss" and "dog" teams. (b) each game is worth 1/16 of the season and, therefore, is equal to every other game and (c) we're never going to be handed an easy schedule. If we're going to make the playoffs, we're going to have to prove we're good enough.

3 of our first 4 games are away games (That bites)!

We have 9 late Sun. games, 5 early Sun. games and 2 night games. (As an easterner, I like the early Sun. games better than the late Sun. ones because the late games invariably break up the dinner hour and it's better than 50-50 we're going to have (non football rooting) dinner guests.

Thanksgiving will be extra cool, because our game is after another important game influencing our division: Seattle vs. Dallas.

We drew three potential "snow games": (1) @ Seattle Nov.16 (chances slim), (2) the Thanksgiving game in Philly Nov. 27 (chances less slim and we may have to at least face windy conditions) and (3) Dec. 21 vs. NE in Foxboro (that's the one I'd be concerned about - here too, we're talking the potential for wind and cold in addition to the snow).

All in all, I like the schedule - it's got a lot of interesting features we generally don't run into.

Sked is already posted on the BRS (I'm starting to catch up and get on top of stuff).

make the @Seattle game almost a Zero chance of snow. Wet, crappy weather on the other hand? Almost a certainty.

I dont mind playing at NE in potentially snow. NE is for the most part, a passing team. Wild, unusual weather increases volatility, and if you are the underdog, that is a good thing.

So, the first game is against a team with a new offensive coordinator and either Alex Smith or Shaun Hill. Next match-up is against a team with a new coach and new offensive coordinator and John Beck or Josh McCown. Next match-up, it's new coach/new offensive coordinator/Jason Campbell. Next match-up, Kellen Clemons and the high-scoring Jets. Next match-up, it's new offfensive coordinator/Trent Edwards.

This is incredibly tasty for the Cardinals defense.

They should trade for Lito Shepperd to make the Eagles Thanksgiving game even more spicy.

I have almost no understanding why anyone, after the past two seasons, would believe that the Arizona Cardinals WILL beat the San Francisco 49ers. Had they'd been able to beat them once last season, the Cards would be looking at a Sunday Night Football game this year, likely at home.

Sweeping the Rams and splitting the series with the Seahawks and 49ers is essential. It's impossible to tell how our out-of-division games will look, other than than that the Panthers will likely be a more difficult opponent than they were last season, as will the Jets and Dolphins (likely).

If you dont like the Cards schedule -- check out St. Louis' and SF's--

its like the NFL decided that Linehan and Nolan should be fired at midseason--

For St. Louis: in the first seven weeks of the season, they play each of the NFC East teams (opening at Philly) and go to Seattle and New England. Only Buffalo at home could be considered a game where they wont be big underdogs. The Cards could face a winless Ram team in week 9.

for SF: after opening against the Cards, in their next seven games they play @ Seattle, Det, @ New Orleans, New England, Philly, @Giants and then Seattle.

I think that puts their opener against the Cards squarely in the "absolute must win" column, or they are staring at a 1-7 kind of start.

Anyone here live in the Cleveland area? Cbus? Did the Browns get their Thanksgiving night game broadcast locally?

I don't have NFLN at home, and I'd prefer not to spend Thanksgiving night at my Dad's...

Daisy-- "can"??

I think there is no question that the Cards "can". I even think they "should"

I admit that is a long way from "will"

The Cards have better overall roster than the 49ers. That doesnt equate to wins, but I dont think its unreasonable to think that the Cards can beat them twice.

You're absolutely right. I mis-typed. I think you can quibble with whether the Cards have a better overall roster than San Francisco, position to position, but on paper the Cards should win those games.

But the games aren't played on paper, and in the last two meetings, the 49ers showed that they can hang with this team.

Niners and Rams seem to have a worse schedule then we do. Patriots have two consecutive road games on the west coast, we play them right after those two back to back west coast road games which is in our favor.

WOW!!! Rugby a 5-0 start? That would be our best start since 1974. I think we can get to the playoffs, but if this team starts out 5-0 we will probably win more than 10 games. I would luv to see the start, not the finish.

wait, wait, wait. We get to start on the road AGAIN AND get 3 of our first 4 on the road, AGAIN? That's complete and utter crap. Serious amounts of crap. It's freaking ridiculous the 8-ball this team gets put in schedule wise every season. In the last 20 years, only ONCE have we ever started with either a home game or 2 of our first three at home and that was the same darn year. That's ridiculous. Just ridiculous.
