We hung with them and played them even. That's a victory in itself.
Sure, there are things to clean up. Learning defensive assignments and angles will close some gaps.
We need to spread the ball around to more than just Hopkins.
Gotta open a little wider running lanes to get Drake and Edmonds some room.
Zane has to make at least two of those kicks.
Kliff has to do a better job of exploiting opposing weaknesses instead of running scripts.
Get Simmons settled in a spot.

All doable while maintaining competitiveness in the early season though. Having no preseason will affect most teams in some ways like this.

We've definitely upgraded talent though.

I missed seeing it... would someone give me a quick rundown of how the Cards scored the FG to end the half, please?

We moved the ball pretty well with 1 minute remaining, then at 40yards line couple of head scratcher calls by KK and Larry made a run after a Hopkins 3 yards reception, picked the football on the ground and delivered immediately to the official, then Murray stopped the clock with just 2 seconds left

I was screaming about the hold. That was a sack that the refs turned into a 9 yard scramble.

We won the opening game that is away playing last years NFC Champions who are also division rivals & people are going to bitch about it? To me that's totally unacceptable. Nobody predicted us to win. Probably not even you.
I am sure the Cardinals coach is going to reveiw the game tape and say, "We won the game. Why should I be critical of mistakes and poor play calls in the first half? As a matter of fact, I'm going to give the entire team the week off, I don't want them to think I am being critical because we won..."

Jones was being held on every play.

Bosa went by humphries untouched.

Its the same old argument..."DJ only gave up 2 sacks last year".....yea because we have one of the top 3 shiftiest QB's in the league. He gave up at least 10 pressures today, including several plays where Bosa literally ran past him without being slowed down in the slightest.

This is accurate. Our offensive line was pretty bad. I’m not sure it matters too much, though, because Kyler is good enough at recognizing pocket pressure and mobile enough to thrive even with an overmatched line. Very much like Russell.

Nobody is bitching about it but let's not pretend it was all roses we we played brilliantly, controlled the game and looked like superbowl contenders.

The first half was super rough. There were some really bad play calls and some poor decisions on the field. Everybody is super pleased for the win but that doesn't mean you ignore some obvious issues.

In a way, the fact that KK was able to make adjustments so much better than KS is a great sign. I think we outgained them like 380-180 after the first several drives. Our first four drives were 10, 3, 10, 1 yards.
