Two centers. Are we just grabbing talented youngsters, or is this a hint of what's to come in the off-season?

Seemed we tried to replace Lyle this past offseason with Shipley. Shipley didn't get it done to the tune we went and brought Lyle back.

I'd expect us to continue to look at upgrading the position, though I'm not sure these two guys can beat out either Sendlein or Shipley.

Nice to see them getting starting on 2016 OTA's.

Go Cards!!!

Hopefully the latter.

You better believe we are drafting a Center. Book it.

FA and Draft Priorities:

1. OLB---we need to add speed on the edge.

2. C---it's time.

3. CB---a player to challenge Bethel at RCB and be a contributor in the nickel and on STs.

4. RB---reliable depth needed. Will the team re-sign Chris Johnson?

5. QB---will the team re-sign Stanton?

6. ILB---a player to challenge Kevin Minter and sub in on passing downs.

7. TE---will the team re-sign Jermaine Gresham?

8. PR/KR---return teams need a spark.

Or a player that can challenge Minter on all downs.

I'm surprised you have ILB this low, I think that's easily our second biggest need after a OLB.

DVo---I had it that low because I think SK and the coaches like the Minter/Bucannon tandem and like them a lot. The expectation is that they will be stronger and even more productive next year.

This is what scares me.

I like Deone but we can do a lot better in Minter's place. A whole lot.

Agree. Minter has been fine on run downs. It's just he's the whipping boy around here for the top 5 defense.

another legitimate Minter gripe is he offers no pass rush ability.

IMO, a cornerstone ILB does 3 things well:

1. stops the run
2. can drop into coverage
3. can rush the A gap

DWash and Dansby did all 3 marvelously. Remember how many sacks they both used to get up the middle? Its a very important weapon that we dont have because Minter is slow and has no wiggle.

Minter can stop the run, and nothing else. Thats 1 for 3. No good.

I am thrilled to see SK and the scouting unit working their magic so early for the upcoming 2016 season.

Agreed. ILB needs to be a high priority for us.

I suspect the Cardinals are hoping that Matt Barkley will allow for them to move on from Stanton this off-season.
