Evasive on the question of whether Levi would have played this week if he were still here. Keim and Arians weren't testifying before Congress, but they did give the "I can't respond to a hypothetical question" response.

I'm a little confused about what game Arians reviewed early Levi tape on that he was so impressed with. He said twice that "The guy we saw in training camp was not the guy we evaluated from the 2011 film from New Orleans." We didn't play New Orleans in 2011 or 2010. What game would he be talking about?

Also: it's mystifying to me that you'd make your decision on a left tackle based on one game of tape. You have a wealth of material to look at--why not do some study? We apparently watched every snap from 2012 in evaluating Carson Palmer prior to the trade... wouldn't you do similar due diligence on your own roster players?

All I can do is SMH... Foot in mouth bozo team to this point.

Wow. Well hopefully it's a 6th or 7th for a 5th.
That's how I read it. We dealt Levi and swapped picks so that we'd get back a 5th or 6th round pick instead of a 6th or 7th.

Is it my imagination or are most of the howls of outrage over the trade terms coming from the very same people who were originally screaming for Levi to be outtahere?

Was thrilled with the trade. But this wrinkle is complete horse crap and the trade should never have happened.

When asked how they can sell the fans on this trade, Arians didn't say much, but Keim stepped in and referred to Arians' earlier comment that it couldn't possibly any worse. Arians added that "this is Bradley's opportunity" to show that he's an NFL starter in the NFL.

I'm a little confused about what game Arians reviewed early Levi tape on that he was so impressed with. well, we played them in 2011 in the pre-season, right? or was that last year? and in 2010, we played them in the infamous "How-The-Hell-did-we-beat-the-Saints-with-Max-Hall-at-QB-?" game. Levi scored a TD in that game, so maybe that's what really sold BA on him.

agreed.

Yep. I liked the trade until I realized what the Cards did to make the trade happen. Seems iffy to me.

I just knew this kind of response was coming. Getting rid of Levi is only part of the problem. The people who have been "screaming" for him to be gone have been screaming to upgrade the position. And there have been MULTIPLE chances to do so...even in just the last eight months and nothing was done to do so. So, now you throw in that we got rid of him, we had to pay to get rid of him and we apparently had to hurt our cap next year to get rid of him...and still haven't done anything to upgrade the LT, you're damn right we're still pissed.

this is amateur hour.

The question is why would the Cardinals have traded a pick and Levi vs just cutting him? There has to be an advantage or value to them somewhere. They either upgraded a pick or gained some sort of cap relief (IDK what).

I can't see any other reason to trade a pick and take the same cap hit.

Ya know Cheese, we never know what happens behind closed doors. This team is different now. Michael Bidwill wants to win. They got the stadium so they could spend money. These guys are paid to do this. They are experts. We should trust them.

Exactly what I was thinking. Why give more away when you could have just cut him.

This makes no sense whatsoever...

So you were "thrilled" with the idea of getting a 6th(?) straight up for Levi, but now that we are giving up a 7th(?) and getting the 6th(?) the sky is falling? Is the first info we got on the trade better than what we have learned? Yes, but not so much so that it just turned this into "complete horse crap".

It is fun to string people up before we know the details, huh?

If we traded Levi and a 6th/7th for a 4th, I'd be thrilled. If it is swapping 6th rounders, I would be pissed. Instead of roasting Keim because we are speculating that the former "would absolutely not happen", let's see how this plays out.

I'm more angry that we had to restructure Levi before he left so he could fit within the Steelers' tight cap space. $6 million of dead money on the books in 2014 has gotta be worth something to Pittsburgh.

Ok ok, I think I can see the possibility that the pick is an upgrade, but why aren't the Cardinals saying anything about it? Why the secret? Don't want to set the market price for unloading others?

So why don't they tell us the details? If they don't, we string em up...

Probably conditional, so they don't really have any further details to offer.

agreed. we basically bent over to give them something they apparently really needed. that's what bothers me so much here. we had the leverage in this situation and it looks like we didn't take care of it.

and crisper, if we got a 4th back...don't you think Keim and crew would crowing about that, especially since the phoenix radio stations are starting to question exactly what the hell happened in this trade?

I honestly think they don't know what they got back yet until Levi performs/or doesn't for Pitt.

Seriously? This organization has always taken forever to let the details come out in trades. Heck we didn't know what we were getting from the AJ Jefferson trade until right before the draft almost a year later.

Maybe not to you. But pick are valuable especially to a team that is lacking in talent. A trade or swap does nothing for me. I would much rather accumulate picks then swap. Our record and the steeler is likely to be very close at years end. We may get to move up 1 to 10 spots?? Woopty freaking doo.

Yes, they do. They could say we sent a pick to them and what we get back is conditional. Why not say that in the presser?

but they have to know what conditions were made when they made the trade, no? why not at least publicize those?

Unless the pick we get back is from a higher round than the one we gave up..
