I also like what I have seen out of Alomar today. Really encouraging. However, I am not impressed with the batters at all. I mean they are facing Shawn Estes and they cant get more than one hit in 5 innings.

As Evil Ash reminded me in the chat room, it's only one game , but tonight's game looked eerily like most of last season. I have faith that BB & staff will remind our hitters that it is indeed okay to make the opposing pitcher actually have to pitch! Estes' pitch count was ridiculously low compared to RJ - I know they are different types of throwers, but we are still hacking way too much!

Last night I was listening to the talk show on 620. These guys are talking how easy our first 15 games are. I couldn't not understand what I was hearing. They said we need to get out of the gate at 12-3.

Those idiots must think baseball is just like football. Ridiculous!!!

The difference between even the best and worst teams in baseball often doesn't show itself in individual series--after all, the best teams will go a game over .500 per week while the worst may go just a game worse. Any professional team is capable of beating any other team--take the Devilrays vs. Yanks, for instance!

Playing around .500 ball will keep the team in the ballpark in the NL West... where the winner will likely be the team that finishes relatively stronger than the others.

Top of the 3rd and Colorado is up 1-0. The Rockies have men on second and third and no outs. Webb is wild. Diamondbacks had 2 on no outs and could not score in the second. Looks like last year all over again.
