Qualls gets them down in order and the Diamondbacks win 8-6 and take the series. The bullpen actually came through today, not allowing a run. Let's hope Upton's injury is not serious.

And, I think I'm gonna have to continue the CY bashing as, at least this year so far, he seems to enjoy proving me wrong!

And, what about Kelly Johnson! What a tremendous pickup for which the D-backs braintrust have not received any praise up to this point...

Qualls does not have a dominant pitch. He is NOT a closer.

Qualls does have a great pitch, his slider. When it is going right no one can hit it. The problem is, it is flat right now.

No, we should keep with this thread. It worked for the Coyotes. This forum will never be like the Diamondbacks Bullpen site. For the past few years there have been about 7-10 loyal fans who post here. I remember on the old board during the 2001 season how active the Diamondbacks forum was. Curt Schilling used to post and a poster named KJJK was Mr. Pessimistic. The good old days. Would love to see that happen here again.

Piecoro's notes regarding how the newly signed Immigration Bill might/will affect the Dbacks. I really hope people use common sense regarding this issue as the Dbacks have NOTHING to do w/ it -

2. Knowing the history of the MLK holiday controversy and how it cost Arizona a chance at conventions and a Super Bowl, people are wondering if this might cause MLB to take away the 2011 All-Star Game.
Hall hasn’t heard anything to make him think that might happen, but of course he has some concerns about the possibility.
“I’m concerned because we worked so hard to get it,” he said. “We’d hate to see it go away if too much pressure is put on MLB, but the planning is well into motion and I think it would be difficult to back off at this point for 2011. My hope is that it won’t impact it in any way.”
3. People are using the Diamondbacks as a way to voice their opposition to Arizona’s law, organizing protests around their road games. There’s one set for tomorrow afternoon here in Denver and another for Thursday in Chicago.

People are boycotting the games because the DBacks in a way do have something to do with it...our ownership, mainly Kendrick, was supportive of the bill. I don't care to look any more into the specifics right now, but it's out there.

I definitely won't be participating in any type of boycott obviously, but that's part of the reason.

Not according to same article I posted above -

1. Citing Managing General Partner Ken Kendrick’s contributions to Republican candidates, one seemingly grassroots organization is calling for a boycott of the Diamondbacks.
Hall calls it “misdirected,” saying that Kendrick is against the new immigration law and has made numerous sizeable donations over the years to Hispanic causes.
“We have a lot of support from Hispanic leaders who work closely with us and know what we do for the community,” Hall said. “We employ so many Latinos. We have so many Hispanic fans, players. I just think it’s a misdirected target.”
He said the organization wants the Diamondbacks to come out against the law, but the club won’t do that because, Hall says, it never takes stands.

And my intent is not to turn this into a political argument. Just posting what came from Kendrick/Hall

Stupido.... I am not saying I am for this bill, however, it's STUPID to make it out as a anti-Hispanic bill. In fact, if you're Hispanic and are in America legally, I would think you would be FOR this bill.

Again, my intent was not to spur a political debate. I posted that simply because I found it very strange that people are targeting the Dbacks and the fact that it's even got to the point where the 2011 All Star game being in PHX is now being questioned.

Not going to comment further on this but I think most people are angry because cops can now check anyone, would you be upset if a cop came up to you and asked you for some papers, even if you may be caucasian. How do I prove I am a citizen tell the cop "I donta speaka the Spanish, for reals".

What a whacky season it's been so far... the much maligned pen stepped up today and pitched 6 & 2/3rds of 2 hit, no run ball... How do they do that???

I have not seen any highlights, what kind of injury did he suffer? Hopefully he is okay.
