Diamondbacks win and sweep the Giants!!! Quals came in and got the save. The bullpen actually did a great job after the Giants took the lead 7-5.

Diamondbacks go into the 9th with a 8-4 lead and Guitierrez gives up 2 home runs and a double. Qualls is coming in to relieve with the score 8-6. :bang:

Diamondbacks survive and win their third straight game. Toronto hit six solo homers but still lose.

As a baseball fan, that would have been a fun game to be at. 8 HRs in a game?? Now THATS excitement

8 runs through 2 innings, off to a strong offensive start.

What value do Drew/Jackson have? Would love to trade one or both for a closer. I honestly think the bullpen issues would work themselves out with a reliable 9th inning guy. Qualls to the 8th (where he's best suited) and then everyone else falls in line.

Abreu can easily replace Drew in my opinion, and Jackson could easily be replaced by Parra. I see ZERO fire from either Drew or Jackson and think they are the most replaceable.

This is where you lose me. I love Parra but right now he is no better than a platoon player. He can't hit lefties. Conor Jackson is by far our best average hitter. He is a good player to have hit near the top of the order because he will take pitches so the rest of the lineup can see what the pitcher has for that night. As for Abreu, he has never played SS in the majors until this year. I wouldn't trust him at SS. Also, I didn't realize our only 300 hitter in the starting lineup shows no fire. Drew like Jackson is one of our better hitters plus he will be arbitration eligable for the first time this upcoming season so we control him for 3 more years. There is no way you deal either for just a reliever.

Of all the guys on our team I would say Kelly Johnson would be the first to be traded since his value is at an all-time high and we have a guy in Abreu who can take over. Don't forget prior to Johnson being non-tendered by the Braves Abreu was going to be our 2nd baseman. The next guy would be Adam LaRoche. I fully expect him to be dealt at the deadline because he is one of those guys that is always dealt and can bring back a nice return. We also have Brandon Allen in the wings ready to take over at 1st.

Our season isn't over yet guys...not ready to be a seller. Nice little winning streak here and Young with 4 RBIs!

All we have to do is outscore everyone, that doesn't sound to hard.:sarcasm:

Honestly, we need to fix that bullpen if we have any shot this season. But the asking price for relief pitchers is ridiculous right now.

Is the Billy Buckner era over? He did not last five innings and the Diamondbacks are down 12-3 in the 8th.

That is the problem. With Jarrod Parker being unavailable until 2011 because of Tommy John Surgery our best minor league pitching options are Billy Buckner, Kevin Mulvey, Bryan Augenstein and Cesar Valdez. Currently, Buckner looks like the best option (if you can call it that).

Bryan Augenstein has gotten off to a rough start in Triple-A (2-5 5.33 ERA in nine starts) and isn't showing the same potential that he displayed last season; he is not an option.

Valdez might get another shot in the starting rotation but he will have to do better in relief than he did today.

I don't think any of us want to see Kevin Mulvey pitch in the majors any time soon. He has been terrible here and only slightly better than Augenstein in Triple-A.

Sure Buckner got shelled today, but he had a pretty good outing against Florida. He ended up losing the game but I would be happy with 6ip and only 2 ER.

In the end, until Benson comes back, the Diamondbacks will be forced to pick from these four options. Hopefully one will lock it down but the D'backs cannot afford to have a starting pitcher go down with an injury.

Upton has gotten screwed on some calls today. These umps have been brutal lately around the league.

What happened to that rule that you take the first pitch after back to back jacks?

That should make him better the next time out.

Diamondbacks win by scoring two runs in the bottom of the 9th to beat the Rockies and end the 10-game losing streak.

I wonder what attendance is like. My company is giving away tickets and it seems like those who get them don't want them. Something needs to be done.
