He's not going anywhere in the division. He's said multiple times that he would retire before going to SF, the Rams are loaded on the D-line and Seattle won't be able to afford him. I'd offer the guy 2 years at 10 million and guarantee all of it. We know what he brings as a leader and I can only laugh at the people questioning his age/coming off injury. I've seen this man work in the offseason with my own eyes and even trained with him a few times. He is gonna come back from this like it didn't happen.

disagree. Yes he wanted a better deal because he was far outperforming but that was a long time ago. things have changed, he has aged, he has become more ingrained as a cardinal for life. I bet we just offered too little and i bet we raise our offer slightly in a way to make him happy.

I think you are way off base here. The guy deserves to be compensated for his job.

Also he didn't choose to be hurt last year. It's part of the job. Something that will affect him later in life as well.

Maybe I am. But players only seem to think of the "Fairness" of their pay in one direction. Injuries are a reality and I am glad getting injured doesn't cost a guy his salary for the year. But aging is a reality too.

For a 31-year-old coming off a major injury to expect to keep his $9.8 million cap hit when the team improved without him on the field...well, he needs a reality check too.

I hope that is the case. Or it could be that he is offended that they'd ask him to give back one cent of what was promised to him. Hope I am wrong, but hearing DD talk $ over the years makes me wonder where his head is at.

I would bet the farm that hes not asking for 10mil a year or to keep his current cap hit. He knows its paycut or cut.

Not to nitpick but he will be 34 in May and in this game the difference between 31 and 34 is expressed $$$$. Only validates your point more. I think its about principle to him so not sure this ends well.

I'm okay with $3-3.5M but not anymore than that. DD needs to realize if he is let go, then he probably doesn't even sniff that kind of money from anyone else and neither the Hags nor the Whiners are going to pay DD that kind of money just to get his knowledge of the defense.

DD needs to take whatever he can and leave whatever he doesn't like. The owners have no hesitation to kick players to the curb. He has a contract and if they lowball him, in HIS opinion, he can tell them to shove it. Then, the Cards can cut him and move on or pay him.

I hope that DD and the Cards can work it out, he's one of my favorite players. But, if not, that is the way it goes sometimes.

Totally agree, would like to see him finish career as a Cardinal but he needs to be realistic on contract numbers.

Pretty sure D90 will know what he has left in the tank before training camp. When my physical skills diminished,...there was a slight dip,..then BOOM!! It was gone almost over night

Totally agree, that's how it happens. One day you're just done. People act like it's Jerry Rice times, like a gradual decline, but that's rare because he was such an amazing physical freak. Same thing with Adub, though he was in obvious decline for years. But those are HOF'ers. For most athletes it's quick and obvious.

I believe Dock is much more loyal than Dansby. We'll see. What I do know is Dock always talks about the team, Dansby just talked about himself.
