My thing about Sims is that they don't even attempt to run their normal offense with him in the game. Thomas however tends to pretty much get the normal vertical passing play calls that this offense is known for. I'm a little curious as to what that means as far as whether or not they are really considering Sims as a 3rd option.

That's not true. The problem with Sims is he's a one-read-and-go QB. He doesn't go through his progressions, which evokes the illusion that he's not being given the keys to the offense. If Sims were to stay in the pocket and survey the field, he wouldn't have to do that. This isn't Winston-Salem, he's going to have to eventually beat guys with his arm.

He's just not bad either(that would be a compliment).

He makes Oliver Ross look like HOF.

Arians is saying pass protection is not a problem. The QB needs to release the ball and the running backs need to help out blocking.

I noticed alot of seconds and a few third reads from him in his last 2 games. Was pretty impressed how he does that already as a rookie.

The threes sacks, Palmer barely got the ball before he was sacked..

Here's to Sims outplaying Logan Thursday to secure that QB3 spot.

I'm hoping for it.

They have both played great. I doubt either of them will tank next Thursday.

I'm just going to pretend you meant to put Stanton here.

:doi: If BA believes that he needs an examination for a concussion. Lol

I do remember BA stating The Clown was elite & trading him 4wks later.

All this has to be pure coach speak.

I'd buy a used car from Arians. :)

He's not wrong. Palmer did have moments in which he was slow to make decisions.

With that said, Sowell, Shipley, and Veldheer didn't help.

I'll agree on a couple of plays, but I also saw those little dudes getting jammed on the LOS having issues getting open, but let's not kid ourselves that Oline was horrendous tonight when Carson was in the lineup.

I also think BA was trying to go deep often & also questioned a couple of play calls schematically. On 3rd & 1 why is a little guy like Golden in the lineup to block Mack after motion? It's just like last year when we tried fade after fade to John Brown instead of Fitz?

I luv BA the man & HC but sometimes I'm baffled by some of his comments or play calls.

Good to see Stanton have a solid game. Sims played well again. LT led the game winning drive, but it was Momah & Grice that really made that drive happen more than LT.

John Brown with a great catch on the underthrown ball from Palmer... nice concentration, but he caught it with his body instead of his hands. If the CB actually looked back for the ball then it should've been an INT. Momah was a beast on the final drive... I want to see him do that against 1st & 2nd string guys instead of 4th string 200lb CBs. Still, he showed a lot of fight & toughness & that last drive wouldn't have happened without him.

Watford needs to start at RT Thursday. Sowell was horrible all night. Shipley was horrible too... getting pushed backwards & collapsing the pocket so there was no room for Carson to step up & throw. Sendlein needs to get into game shape for week 1.

Oakafor is getting good pressure & forcing bad throws in every game so far. Kareem Martin has made good plays in the last 2 games with the solo sack tonight & meeting Ta'Amu @ the QB on his sack.

Cariel Brooks with the easy INT & return for a touchdown. Horrible throw by Carr & his receiver looked like he turned away or fell down as Carr was scrambling. Still, nice to see Brooks take advantage of it. He might have solidified himself as the 4th CB over Legree... although I'm still hoping for a veteran waiver wire pickup.

Powers had some decent plays as well and played pretty aggressively. Good to see he wasn't favoring his hamstring at all.

Our starting Defense looks like they're in mid-season form.... constantly put into bad field position situations & holding them to FGs.The run D looks as solid as it was last year. The downside is the lack of sacks, hurries, knockdowns, etc when we only rush 4-5. Saw Bucannon blitz a few times up the middle, but he's not gonna get to the QB unless he's got a wide open lane.

Obviously the 1st half sucked to watch, but that's why they play these pre-season games. There was a lot of miscommunication on WR routes & offensive line problems. We've got a short week to get it cleaned up with our next game on Thursday night... pretty crappy job by the schedule makers to have us playing Sunday night & then Thursday night in pre-season.

I had to listen to the game on Sirius radio as I was driving back from Denver. The Raider announcers made several comments about Powers playing some good pass defense but I didn't read any comments by you guys in this thread. Anyone care to comment about that?

Everyone plays their last preseason game on Thursday.. and someone had to play Sunday night football.

I'm not sure if I'm remembering all of these correctly, but from what I remember, he dove in front of a receiver & knocked the ball down on one play. Another play he hit the receiver as he was trying to catch it & caused the incomplete pass. He made a great jump on a screen pass, but then missed the tackle.

Somebody correct me if any of these wasn't him... I don't have a DVR anymore so I can't re-watch plays.
