I had fun watching the first half, but aside from draft pick implications, I don't see this as a great win for the rebuild.

Most of the main contributors on offense are not long-term pieces on this team. Guys like Dobbs, Conner, Hollywood and Ertz having solid games does nothing for the future. The offensive game plan in the second half was also abysmal. Kliff would have been killed around here if he ran the ball twice late in the fourth quarter of a tie game.

Undermanned or not, the defense gave up 31 points in a half, and again the main contributors probably won't be here long term. Gardeck is a great story and all, but he is a situational pass rusher who will turn 30 next year. He isn't nearly as important to the future as Cam Thomas or Ojulari, who were both essentially non-existent tonight. Clark had his moments, so at least that was good.

Overall, I guess the outcome is positive because we are one step closer to a top 5 pick next year, but I still don't get the plan outside of just losing as much as possible this year. The "rebuilding" part of the rebuild seems like it's missing.

For me, yes. I wanted to see a team that didn’t beat itself even if the roster lacked talent. I don’t feel like I have seen that so far. That is disappointing.
This could have been half of the wins in a 2-15 season that yields the #1 pick in the draft. We’re gonna get rolled by same teams, very soon.

Participation trophy culture very strong here.

I just get the feeling you guys actually want to “reload” rather than “rebuild”. Reloading is fine when you already have a perfectly good roster with cornerstones already in place. We’re so far from that it’s not even funny.

I'm still trying to figure out the media/league/fan narrative. Are we the *********, least talented team in the NFL, or did both WSH and NYG win the equivalent of the Super Bowl?

Imagine playing the Browns in 2015 and leaving the stadium elated that you snuck away with a last minute FG victory after being down 20+ and getting stomped for over half the game.

Great point. some of the TV/social media talking heads praising the Giants for such an amazing comeback against the team they all have ranked #32 in power rankings and claim is likely trying to tank. Kind of odd.

Every teams has some injuries, not having an adequate roster isn't bad luck

We were never, ever going to have a good roster. It's fantasy land.

After a decade of terrible drafts and bad FA signings the roster and cap situation was dire.

But no team can handle half their D line out. We dominated the game until injuries took their toll. Losing Watkins and having only Ledbetter, Strong and Stills for the 2nd half killed the rotation and wore them down. Without the injuries we win this game.

What I see is a team that most people said was going to be dire be in both games and lose by a combined 7 points. I see players and units that are well coached and playing well above their perceived ability.

Our D line was Watkins, Ledbetter and Strong in the 1st half and dominated vs the run.

I see a team that scored 28 when this board thought we might struggle to get a single TD. I see coaches making Lemonade with Lemons throughout the team.

Its a bad way to lose, I get that. But I knew going in what this roster was, and through 2 games I believe we have got the max we can out of what we have.

Certainly more than anyone here expected.

What do you disagree about this post, @Tacticool Nerd ?
I really doubt they "Tanked" for Stafford. Looking at how bad their roster was... Don't you remember them drafting a WR in the first round three years in a row? Or them passing on. Steven Jackson for Kevin Jones?

Their entire roster was a cluster f***. And surprise when Stafford was put on a team that didn't look like it was put together by monkeys and duct tape he won a championship.

Nah, he showed us again he can't adjust.

Fair enough. I guess I'm just less critical of our new coaches. Despite a roster we all agree is pretty terrible(including a QB on team for 3 weeks) the team was playing exceptionally well for about 35 minutes.

Injuries on defense along with our best leader Budda not playing wasn't able to sustain the success for 60 minutes and eventually the Giants took advantage of the talent difference.

The criticism of the OC seems more valid but with Kyler playing (instead of a QB who hasn't won a start in the league yet in 6 years) we are 2-0 right now.

This is the least talented roster in the NFL...remember that.

The main reason people are upset is that both games gave you a glimpse of hope.

This is the least talented roster in the NFL.

There is a plan in place...let's not screw it up.

While I dont expect much this year and want to have best possible draft / cap position for 2024, the main thing I am discouraged about is the lack of second half adjustments from both games. We just seem to have no answers to what is thrown at us after halftime.
I was commenting on the lack of adjustments last night

Strange that on both sides of the ball adjustments weren't made

Offense went into a shell

Defense allowed open receivers all over the field and didn't put any pressure on Jones through rush or blitz

Learning lesson for the staff or a bad pattern?

Ha! He's a tough runner, to be sure. He just gets hurt all the time.
Didn't they have to help him off the field near the end of the game? Oh, wait a minute, that was Barkley. My point is that in the NFL RB's do get hurt. And with how hard Conner runs, it's not surprising that he gets injured.

I was watching both our game and the 49er game, us on stream, them on tv. When they updated our game the announcers in the 49ers game were incredulous. Break up the Cards, how in the world are the Giants getting blown out by that team. For an NFL broadcast it was pretty unusual, I know they weren't doing OUR game but the level of that team has the least talent in the NFL in what they were saying is something you don't often hear in an NFL broadcast.

So I do have some hope that the coaches are doing SOME things right, but I sure hope the 2nd half collapses are the result of lack of talent and not lack of adjustments because when we DO have talent, I don't want to see that.

Drake #ucking Maye? Please tell me you're joking.
coming from a Kyler defender.... classic. Cards dont need another spoiled midget, he is listed 6'1 which means he is 5'11. Williams is a hair taller and probably even more spoiled. Plus that last SC QB to come out that was truly WOS was Palmer. Its easy to look good surrounded with 5* at every position. Sorry if you cant see it but Maye is the better prospect.
