Why don't you research before you start making your off the wall comments. Ginobili is from Argentina but his ancestry is from Italy. Both of his parents speak Italian and also several other languages. He is Italian my friend. I am Italian (both my parents were born in Italy) yet I am white.

So where do you get off in saying that he is NOT white. You don't know what the hell you are talking about.

so Ginobli is a caucasian male - that's what you're telling me? He was born in the United States? I believe Italians would be a little miffed at being labeled WHITE.

Even if you were right - it doesn't change the fact that he's not a 6'9 PF and it a guard - of which I've said nothing of race.

So only Americans are White? Huh?

And on the Al Harrington/Mark Madsen bit--they're about the same size, about the same in terms of rebounding and defense, and they're pretty close to the same athletically (although Harrington's got better hops). That was the comparison, not how good they are as players.

in your infinite wisdom what do Italians called themselves, race wise, asian?
They are caucasion just as Ginibilli is and Nocioni from the Bulls is, etc.

This is not a good way to end such a thought-provoking thread.

I'm not sure this thread is all that "thought-provoking" other than the thought that cheesebeef is incredibly wrong and we are all incredibly right. :D

lol. dude was never really a power player anyway. that's why we were constantly trying to find the tim perrys, the jerrod mustaffs, and the xavier mcdaniels . . . note, all black players (for whatever that's worth . . . ???)

I haven't been this excited about a prospect since the days of Rich Kelley and Joel Kramer.

No - we're talking about WHITE POWER FORWARDS - why the hell would I bring up Ginobli in a convo about white power players? Besides the fact - again - that Ginobli is Argentinian and definitely not WHITE.

dude, you gotta stop the euros are not white gig. it's ridiculous. manu is as white as you're gonna get. are you gonna argue that he's latino? that's a dumb argument too considering how many latino pf's there are in the league (using your own argument).

i will say this though, i somewhat agree (surprised, right?) . . . a white american pf just doesn't excite me. i just don't see the upside. and i've actually watched david lee. now ukic . . . that's another story.

ENOUGH! you're looking more and more like an idiot! nowhere in the definition of "caucasian" is the word "american" found . . . italians are considered caucasians *******.

I'm italian (though mexican as well) and everybody calls me white LOL. And a few other things as well but enough about me...

Why does the #21 Pick have-to lead the team to Title? Aren't the Suns looking for role players, not many Prospects in Draft could start on this team, although obviously the top-tier are just a tiny bit better but still...

Everybody knows the Suns will select Francisco Garcia ;) (he's latino) - so I can't wait to hear the board then. I think...

You still havent come up with one?

one power player in the last 15 years that has led his team to an NBA title. First of all you must mean "power forward" instead of "power player". Otherwise there would be 2 Houston teams (Hakeem Olajuwon), 3 LA Lakers teams (Shaquille O'Neal), and 2 San Antonio teams (Tim Duncan). Either way Tim Duncan has done it twice already, and he's about to do it again.

you baby. I guess you wanted me to do all of the games in the finals? :)

Cheese, the biggest problem with your argument here is that you keep referring to David Lee as a big, white stiff. He isn't a stiff though. He is as athletic as most of the black players in the draft. That said, I don't want him. I don't care if Chris Taft has a terrible attitude. If the Phoenix Suns pass on him for someone like David Lee I'll be quite upset.

BTW I do not think the Phoenix Suns would have taken Casey Jacobsen if everything else was the same except he was black. The Phoenix Suns drafted him at least partially because he is a charismatic white man. They were hoping he would replace Dan Majerle in that fan favorite role. Now we have Steve Nash as the white guy that the fans love. That should allow the team to pursue the best player available... regardless of race. :)

ah! There nothing like a debate started with "a big white stiff" comment!

Your welcome folks for the next couple hours of entertainment!

You are very lucky I am not a moderator on this forum or you would be taking a break for blatant trolling.

none of them were straight out of high school. you missed the rest of my post to cheese. he ksept saying not draft this guy because no one in the past 15 years that has won a title has had a white pf. i just pointing out that the same thing could be said about pf/c taken directly from high school.

:stupid:

I've been waiting for a chance to use this smilie.

First, I have no idea if David Lee is any good or not. Considering he's generally ranked as a second rounder, I'd suspect the answer is "not".

Second, there are so few people leading their teams to championships I'm not sure it means much. Lambier was probably the last big man who played a key role on a championship team (how the Bulls won with Longley remains a great mystery to me), but drawing any conclusions from a sample of five teams is pretty doubtful. Even if you concluded the absolute best players in the NBA are black, it doesn't prove much of anything as it relates to the discussion.

Third, perhaps if Dirk was surrounded by a better team he would disprove Cheese's contention. He was listed as first team all NBA. He's not much good on defense, but he's an outstanding rebounder.

Fourth, if the Suns have blind spot for picking white guys, it certainly hasn't kept them drafting Marion, Stoudemire, and Barbosa nor from ending the season with 10 black players. Zarko is the only white guy taken in the teens in the draft and looked very good before his injury. As it was, the guys taken after him that draft have not exactly set the world on fire with the notable exception of Josh Howard.

hoenix - Zarko Cabarkapa, Serbia
New Orleans - David West, Xavier
Utah - Aleksandar Pavlovic, Serbia
Boston - Dahntay Jones (to Memphis)
Atlanta - Boris Diaw-Riffiod, France
New Jersey - Zoran Planinic, Croatia
Portland - Travis Outlaw, Starkville HS
L.A. Lakers - Brian Cook, Illinois
Detroit - Carlos Delfino, Argentina
Minnesota - Ndudi Ebi, Westbury Christian HS
Memphis - Kendrick Perkins (to Boston)
San Antonio - Leandro Barbosa (to Phoenix)
Dallas - Josh Howard, Wake Forest

Round Two
New York - Maciej Lampe, Poland
Cleveland - Jason Kapono, UCLA
L.A. Lakers - Luke Walton, Arizona
Miami - Jerome Beasley, North Dakota
L.A. Clippers - Sofoklis Schortsanitis, Greece
Milwaukee - Szymon Szewczyk, Poland
Chicago - Mario Austin, Mississippi State
Atlanta - Travis Hansen, BYU
Washington - Steve Blake, Maryland
New York - Slavko Vranes, Serbia
Golden State - Derrick Zimmerman, Miss. St.
Seattle - Willie Green (to Philadelphia)
Orlando - Zaur Pachulia, Georgia
Milwaukee - Keith Bogans (to Orlando)
Houston - Malick Badiane, Senegal
Chicago - Matt Bonner (to Toronto)
Denver - Sani Becirovic, Slovenia
Utah - Maurice Williams, Alabama
New Orleans - James Lang, CPC HS
Indiana - James Jones, Miami
Philadelphia - P. Morlende (to Seattle)
New Jersey - Kyle Korver (to Philadelphia)
Toronto - Ramon Van de Hare, Spain
Chicago - Tommy Smith, Arizona State
Portland - Nedzad Sinanovic, Bosnia
Minnesota - Rick Rickert, Minnesota
Boston - Brandon Hunter, Ohio
Dallas - Xue Yuyang, China
Detroit - Andreas Glyniadakis, Greece

Did you think that Zaur Pachulia and Kyle Korver would the best players in the second round?
