Well, I just re-watched this week's episode, and I have my own theory:

Niki (the alter-ego chick) doesn't really have a special power. The one with the special power, is her husband--whose power is to "hide" himself in other people. That's why she goes violent--because he's the violent one. Also, what I didn't catch the first 2 times I watched the episode, was that after she kicked Linderman's henchman in the elevator, she said "If you threaten OUR son again, I'll shove my heel through your head" (or however it went--but she definitely said "our" son). So, at that point she was D.L. (her husband). Pretty cool, if I'm right!

Interesting...but..

Our son refers too her two personalities that are separate and distinct, but both the mom of the son. Her husband has to be the black creepy dude who can clear his and others minds...the one about to brainsuck the cop.

Other than that though...it's a very cool theory and wouldn't be suprised if true anyway.

Just squash my attempts at being Sanders-esque. :(

But you're right about both parts of her claiming the son. I'm just not sure the creepy black guy is her husband...OR,

he IS her husband, but he can still "invade" her body when he wants to. I saw part of a necklace that he was wearing that looked like it could be the same pattern as the tattoo they revealed on her back/shoulder....

graspin' at straws, now, I know ;)

Grasp away...this show is not quite Lost in its "what's going on here" theories, but it certainly is the closest thing to it on TV thus far.

The tattoo on Ali Larter's back is the symbol on the black guy's necklace.

DAMN!

Great episode...loved it all. Totally proven now that Peter can use the powers of others he is close by. Seeing the rest of the painting was amazing.

Is the kids dad...the same guy who "hollow's out" the teen rapist?

linda... RIGHT after she went crazy in the elevator i paused it, turned to my brother and said almost verbatim what you just said! maybe we have super powers where we can read each others thoughts!

Well, there was certainly a shot of Ali Larter's husband's power in the preview...

Looks like he can walk through walls...

Having a super power rules!! :)

But it looks like we're wrong, because I thought that the scary guy that hangs around with the cheerleader's father was D.L., but he's not. Even if the scary guy is the one invading Niki (because of the tattoo/necklace thing), he's not her kid's dad. So, theory gone ker-blooie.

Actually, I think it's this:

He can 'morph' into things--think Terminator 2--I think he became a part of the wall, as opposed to going through it (the Wikipedia link alludes to that as well)

No--they're two different people (I thought the same thing at first, too, but there's two different actors listed in the Wikipedia link)

i'd almost be inclined to believe that......but:

1.) where does she go right after she beat the crap out of the guy in the elevator? back to the congressman's room and has sex with him. so i'm pretty sure that we arent looking at a dude inhabiting a chick and having sex with another dude.

2.)
in the preview for next week's show, it looks like we have Niki beating the crap out of her husband (i think that was him). with Niki only being kickass when she's under her alter ego, i wouldnt think that her being possessed by her husband would make any sense.

You're right--I already had concluded earlier that her alter-ego can't be her husband, but
it could be the other black guy...but I dunno. You never know, he could totally dig being a chick havin' sex w/a guy!! :) Besides, that got Linderman off her ass, so it may have been worth it.

I still think DL and the guy with cheerleader's dad are the same guy...they look alike, and I haven't seen anything on wiki (and wiki isn't completely trustworthy). When they showed the pic of DL, it was the dude with cheerdad.

No it wasn't. They look similar, but they are not.

The actor playing DL was a semi-regular on Buffy the Vampire Slayer in its 4th season (I think). He played Riley's Initiative buddy and actually became a half-demon, if I remember correctly.

The actor playing the creepy mind eraser I don't recognize.

Jimmy John-Louis (listed as "Haitian"): http://imdb.com/name/nm1097515/

Leonard Roberts (DL): http://imdb.com/name/nm0731346/

EDIT: Actually, I do recognize John-Louis. He was in the Bruce Willis movie Tears of the Sun, he played one of the refugees who actually was a traitor and giving their position away to the evil Nigerian pursuers.

Hmm, ok. I'll buy that. I only watched it once, and they only showed DL in the pic and in the shadows.

Good episode, yet again, btw. Best new show on TV.

Definitely agree about that. I have actually been pleasantly surprised by it. And I'm definitely hard to please when it comes to television.

I was thinking that when they flashed the picture that I wanted to see if it was the Haitian, but I recognized DL as being someone else almost immediately.

Cool! I always like to see Buffy characters elsewhere.

btw, I went to school with Reilly (Marc Blucas) when I lived in Pennsylvania. I had a HUGE crush on him in kindergarten - 2nd grade!! His real name is Marcus Blucas, and I used to tease him because it rhymed.

I think I look forward to this show more than any other on TV right now including (I can't believe I'm about to say this) Lost. 30 minutes into the season I did not think I was going to make it to the next episode. The Japanese guys kept me watching, and I'm glad they did. I really like the show.
