Dude that doesn't even look natural. I think one reason he can't catch is those giant arms. What he gains in strength he loses in flexibility.

kingofcards:

I used to argue that pittman had fumbling problems and could not catch because his arms were too big (muscular - not too long)....too much muscle and size on his arms caused the football to just squirt out...

Boston may have the same issues...his flexibility has to have decreased based on the size of those suckers...also...the bigger his upperbody gets..the more stress he puts on his knees, legs, ankles, feet, etc..more chance for injury...

at some point for a receiver or running back...enough is enough!

Well it's not surprising that he has gotten so large....he has a secret ingredient:

Of course!

But I've always wondered why I saw him a few times going into a veteranarians in Nogales, Mexico? (That where all the jocks that I knew got their 'roids :D )

The first inkling of trouble last year was when all offseason we heard about how mentor Jerry Sullivan told David to take a little size off to about 220 lbs -- improve speed and reduce wear and tear on the legs, knees, etc. -

Instead, DB shows up 10 lbs HEAVIER -- all muscle, but heavier none the less.

I am beginning to think that DB enjoys the title of "physical freak" much more than "productive wide receiver"

Dude maybe you need to switch position and play LB. What's he doing to his body is going to break it down faster than normal. How big is the CB that he's facing 250 pounds that he needs to get that big?

What did it ever do for him? Aside from maybe two sportcenter oooohs and aaaahhhs about him breaking tackles like a big RB how many td's did he get run after catch wise?

The guy is a total headcase.

No way is that his optimum build to actually be the best reciever he can be. His knees are never going to take that kinda stress and if he loses just 2 tenths off his speed due to his knees he is then just average.

IDIOT!

Guys get over it already - jeez- he's gone let it go. Oh and for all you now on the steriod bandwagon, wasn't he tested for drugs after the DUI accident - why was his sytem clean as far as that was concerned?

He does look scarily huge though.

Oh and it's hard to call someone a head case while he's actually signing someone's autograph.

They don't test for steroids in a DUI screen do they?

Yep, he really would've been in trouble with the NFL if he had tested positive roids rather than just weed and coke.

I tend to believe that steroid abuse is widespread in MLB and the NFL. I've seen too much use by people to think all of those guys got those physiques clean. Whether Boston is dirty, or not, innocent until proven guilty.

Why does everyone say 'roids when someone gets huge? I can complain because I was way skinny kid graduating HS in. Spent my whole seven Naval carreer not too much bigger. Got into the gym a couple years after getting out and after two years of lifting just exploded. Went from 6'0" 145 to 215 in about two and a half years. Never took anything but aminos. Then the 'roid talk started. It's just a shame that hard work doesn't pay off in most people's eyes. When people would ask if I did do them, I always answered "No. Because I like my nuts too much." and walk away. So, not all size is influenced. I'm not saying that some do or don't do it, but give people the benefit of the doubt.

Oh, and a little confirmation on the size puts strains on the knees, ankles, and feet. I torn my Achillies tendon playing flag football. I tore it just taking a step out of the huddle. Yes. I believe that the injury was due to my upper body size. At the time I weighed 225. Going from 145 to 225 within six years puts wear and tear on a body. So we will see how this new mass helps or hurts Mr. Boston. But you'd think he would understand that just about every WR is lean and fast. That's how to be successful.

He was told to get to 220 by Jerry Sullivan he instead showed up even bigger.

What part of this does anyone not understand?

I could care less how or why he did it. He did it and who in their right minds thinks David Boston knows better than JS?

Bottom line he thinks he knows everything well he is talented enough that he can get by with that for a while but if and when he crashes he will crash hard.

I could care less about him from a Cardinal standpoint it just irritates me just like Randy Moss irritates me. Celebrating td's when behind by massive amounts and taking plays off are all symptoms of the same disease. Selfishness.

He's the Chargers problem now I could care less other than he just irritates me as an NFL player.

Its not just the stress on the knees and joints. The boy has to FEED that mass. Not just calories but also oxygen. There's a reason the best marathon runners are so skinny.
Watch for Boston to start fading badly in the 4th quarter of games this year. Especially if the Chargers are behind and have to throw a lot of passes. Even if Boston is not the intended WR he'll be expected to sprint on EVERY play. With all that muscle mass he's gonna build up serious oxygen debt in no time.

He has the potential to be good. Boston only has one good productive year as a Card. We have a talented WR, His name is Boldin.

I said it before on the day he left...

There is no way in hell he finishes the season.

Wether it's his chronic knee problem, drugs, or whatever, but he's will crash and burn this season.

Good riddince

I'm sorry, but a 1157 yard season with 7 touchdowns with Jake Plummer throwing to him isn't productive? Oh yeah, we already have a productive reciever - his name is I HAVEN'T PLAYED ONE DOWN IN THE NFL/HAVE ALREADY HAD KNEE PROBLEMS/WASN'T A TOP TEN PICK - and I like Boldin - but jeez.

bingo

that is exactly how I feel

two words for those who think someone the size of boston will end up lasting the season.

Jerry rice

a better strategy would be to move him to tight end. we were lucky we got rid of this guy

:D

What? I can't hear you! All this "sweetness & light" combined with "unbridled sour-grapes" makes it difficult to understand you...

So Boston can play D-Line now...he's not our guy anymore...we need to let it go...
