Cousins will take A lot of $$$ and get killed here.

We should look at developing at least one QB and get a starting mentor for this coming season. It could be Keenum or Stanton for the transition. Both shouldn't break the bank won't cost draft choices and will allow the FO to rebuild the OL. Priority #1.

Cousins has a career rating of 94. 16,000 yards and 99 TD 55 Int. To act like half the QBs in the league are better than that is insane. If you don't like him that's fine but don't act like he's average. We would be very lucky to get a QB like him. He gives us the potential of 12+ wins. Any other QB that has been named Bridge...Bradford..Taylor etc keep us at 8.
The overwhelming response to settle on these average QBs amaze me. You get this opportunity only a few times.....get Cousins however you can

Then how come he has never led Washington to 12 wins? Or even 10 as a matter of fact?

Boggie Cousins or Kirk? I just don’t see us paying the guy 28-30 some mill a year.

We've been down this road, but it's because he's never had a running game or a defense that's ranked over 16. And that was once - the rest was in the 20+ range.
If he’s worth what he’s going to get then he should be able to muster out at least 10 wins once, even with not so the best defense in the world. Prior to this season, he has had a multitude of weapons. Solid QBs have done it before.

He also has looked awful everytime he played against us. He is not nearly as good as his stats say.

It's all good. You made your opinion known with your prior post. 8 out of 10 think Cousins is a top 10 Q. Your one of the 2.
I don’t care what 8 out of 10 people think. If he was top 10, he would have been resigned already by Washington. Just say “I don’t have an answer” & move on.

No way I’m paying $20+ mil a year
Problem is, that's the going rate for above average QBs right now. Will be the going rate for average QBs in 2 or 3 years. Hence Mike Glennon got about 15m a year! If Cousins maintains his level of play with the Cards, who have a much better defense than the Skins, 25m will look like a bargain down the road and Keim would be praised as genius!

I guess my point is I don’t believe in the guys ability to win the Cards a Super Bowl

I see accuracy, tenacity and poise. Can win a lot of games when your QB has those. Look what Shurmur just did with Keenum. Imagine what he could do with Cousins.

Let's see who the OC is to see if he and KC are a good match. If they are, I would offer him Carson Palmer money ($23-24M a year + performance incentives). If he wants more than that...forget it.

He would put us right back into the playoff chase and we could use the #15 pick on a player like LB Roquan Smith or C Billy Price.

However---this just gets me thinking---why spend all that money on Cousins if you can trade up and take QB Baker Mayfield, who may wind up being even more accurate and dynamic.

Because football is a team sport. Anyone who thinks all you need is a qb isn't using their brain.

3 of the qbs that played on CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND wouldn't be considered franchise qbs by anyone

Your point is understood, but it’s more like 2. Wentz led Philly to the #1 seed. Foles only needed to win 1 Home game against a dome team in cold weather to get to the NFC championship.

This topic again huh? Lmao.

Cousins is better than any of the top 3 QBs taken this year, and they may never touch him. Maybe there’s some surprise 4th rounder this draft that turns into the next Wilson, but I’d bet not.

You take Cousins and you lock him up as soon as you can. QBs like this don’t hit free agency often, and the reason he’s not already locked up is because the redskins are run like a dumpster fire, the same reason he hasn’t “won” there.

@DVontel There’s no way you can look at Lamar Jackson’s college tape and think he’ll have a better career than Cousins.

Washington has been garbage at making personnel decisions for nearly two decades. I don't think it's any surprise they're making this stupid decision if they do.

And 2 of those guys got sent packing.

Kennum had the best year of his career by far & is a game mgr imo.

Bortles played well for 2 games & yet couldn’t produce when his team needed him down the stretch.

Foles was average against the Falcons & played lights out against the Vikes no doubt. But since his rookie year this was the first season he’s played well since that team so I’m thinking it was a flash in the pan.

The Iggles are more than likely going to lose to the better QB. That’s generally how the nfl playoffs pan out.

It rarely happens that a team without a stud QB win a SB & I think those 3 you mentioned are nothing more than mediocre.

Good job moving the goalpost for starters. Well done.

The question was asked why he didn't win more than 10 games (not debatable - team sport) not whether or not he's a franchise qb (which is debatable).

Ideally you have a franchise level qb and I would love for the cards to find one whether its via the draft or free agency. Some people only look at one way to do it but i'd prefer management look at ALL options and choose accordingly. I'm weird like that
