to be honest, I'd be fine with that - it still gives KG to realize the Celts aren't the Suns, he doesn't go to the Lakers and we still have a chance to sign him next year at the MLE when he inevitably leaves Boston.

I aslo think it makes the East better, thus improving the NBA overall, which it needs. As long as he doesn't go to LA/We don't give up Amare, I could care less where he goes.

As long as KG does not end up the Lakers, Mavs or Spurs, I could care less where he goes. I agree we can make a run at him after next season.

I agree, but doesn't danny ainge officially become worse that isiah at this point. Getting kg w/o an extension give up a young stud in jefferson and #5.

Ainge has continually said that he would not give up Jefferson. Why would he give him up in the first place and secondly why would he trade away the #5 pick (what a waste of a trip to AZ if he knew he was going to trade away the pick)??

Why would they trade away Jefferson AND the pick for a guy they have to assume is going to be a one-year rental?

That would seem to seal the deal to him getting fired. I guess you could argue that he is banking that KG changes his mind after playing with Pierce. I just seriously doubt it.

This is all bogus...

I agree.

At least Ainge landed a player that's going to be very, very productive right away, and compliments his star in Pierce.

For a single year. There's no way that trading Jefferson and the #5 for KG is going to get them to the Finals, so how does that work? And besides, Jefferson is still on his rookie contract, right? What else besides Ratliff would the Celtics be including?

It comes from a reliable source...

Don't know, but just saying Ainge is still a step above Isiaiah because he's getting a quality player in return and if KG opts out, at least they've got cap space to recover somewhat.

Before we get all worked up we need to realize there is 2 different stories in this thread 1- KG is being traded in a blockbuster deal with details to come and 2- KG is going to Boston for #5 and Jefferson. Story #1 came from Realgm however you want to interpret that take it for what its worth and story #2 came from someone who has 7 posts on asfn who said that he saw it in another board that someone had posted it and they are "reliable" so before we all get worked up over this supposibly Boston trade lets keep this in check.

Unfortunately guys he is going to Boston. A poster who claimed this blockbuster deal would happen before it was even posted on realGM has stated that KG is going to Boston. Ainge is willing to take on KG without an extension as well. Makes some sense since Paul Pierce has been threatening them to trade him unless they bring in veteran talent. And nobody can beat their offer of Jeffers+#5 pick.

Cause it was from a poster on realGM it must be so....

I find it extremely hard to believe that Ainge would send off his pride and joy in Jefferson and his #5 pick in this years draft (not to mention that player will be around more then one year and have an instant impact for the Celtics) all for one year with KG. Thats preposterous. I realize Ainge is under pressure to make something happen but I dont think he is stupid enough to do this trade.

Bucher says no kg trade until later in the summer, minny kills many scenarios then, doesn't it? Because they don't get an extra top ten pick.

Brian, if you have been reading I think we all kinda of realize that. It's really really getting both funny and tragic at the same time.

I heard from a reliable source that Ratliff and the #5 were going to to Seattle in return for Ray Allen...but Ray doesn't want to go to Boston.
