Man, what does sand taste like, nidan? Seriously, is it that impossible for you to believe that your boy Graves might be in over his head here?

Tom Condon has been known for not negotiating through the media. That it has come to this should be a statement for you about how things have gone in the negotiation process.

Whether you like it or not, the Cards have squandered an opportunity and a lot of good will in the Valley. If Matt Leinart doesn't play in the Steelers game and the Cards end up getting killed, what you're going to hear about is how Matt didn't get any snaps.

It is funny that the Cards keep drafting greedy players.

Fitz's deal should've been harder than this one to complete since it involved more money. But, that one was a snap by comparison. If Leinart signs in the next couple of days and makes nice, everyone will forget about the holdout within a week.

It's totally fair that the Cards are getting ripped today. These differences should've been ironed out a week ago. And, I put most of the blame on our end, based on what we've heard. Because that is all we have to go on.

This is a hard contract to negotiate. Fitz was the best WR, and was the first taken. Easy enough to sign him.

Leinart feels he's the best QB, but Young was taken first. It makes things sticky.

The naysayers suggest they we cut off, it could just be they couldn't find the folks they needed

That is IF they didnt already have those players called and on a plane for interviews. But alas they did and canceled them. 3 Players that we know of, all 3 of which signed fair deals with other teams.

You may have a point on OL but they had their eyes squarely set on some DB's and LB's for fair deals.

I was saying that from the "Cards are Cheap" perspective. Yet, if you remember, Fitz easily got a contract that, with incentives, was supposedly the largest in that draft (60 million total). Of course, Green was in his first year and had a strong relationship with Fitz. Both of those things probably played a big role.

I really think that this line of story is much ado about nothing. There has never been anything anywhere to suggest that Leinart wanted Vince Young-type money.

It's hard to argue that Leinart isn't the better quarterback that was taken in the draft, but he'll have to wait to prove that on the field.

Maybe so, I really havn't thought much about that side, it's the OL I've heard people whining about a lot.

Oh such drama! The sky is not falling (yet). The Pitt game is totally meaningless and come Sept 10 nobody will give a hoot if Matt played in that game at all.

I agree, but there's a short game and a long game here. The Cards are losing the short game. There's plenty of opportunity for a lot of empty seats that are paid for at the new stadium.

All you have to do is look at Gollin's post about buying some warm-ups. He's a diehard fan. Imagine how the casual fans are reacting right now?

That being said, maybe all will be forgotten on 9/10, but what happens if the Cards start 1-2? How long did it take for fans to boo Dave Brown to the bench for Jake Plummer? Now, people are demanding that Leinart start, but he's not ready because Graves couldn't find a good starting point for negotiations. One thing feeds into another.

RC, the Cards had the opportunity to banish the "same ol' Cards" mantra forever this offseason, but they bungled it, and now the slogan is back out on the airwaves.

The more it comes back, the harder it is to kill.

But he got slotted Gauranteed money.

The rest was unattainable incentives, making the 60 Mill look far more then Fitz will actually see.

Sorry but missing a preseason game is not meaningless. Especially for a QB and one that will most likely be starting at some point this season.

Amazing how all of a sudden Jurecki is a unquestionably reliable source of information. Wasn't it just last year when he was bad mouthing the Cards because he was no longer the insider? Now his word is gospel?

I see what you're saying. But the "Same ol Cards" mantra is just verbal jerking by radio jocks to fill the airwaves today and in reality is totally meaninless. The fate of that label will lie squarly on the won-loss record at the end of the season. Will the Leinart hold out effect that? Probably not assuming they get the deal done soon.

The guy who writes for Yahoo is the one who broke the Reggie Bush condo story before the draft (I think). He's a legit guy.

Probably.

How many other first round draft picks did Condon represent....and how smoothly did he get them in camp??

Anybody else find it ironic that a guy who played for the Trojans hired an agent named Condom?

Yeah, I'll agree with you here.

If the fans are demanding Leinart after 3 games they are idiots because starting a rook is a proven formula for failure regardless of training camp.

How many other first round picks did he represent that were drafted 8 or 9 slots below where they were projected to go and were QB's?

OK, I'm confused. Where are you here?? I'm saying that below $12 million is unacceptable. It seems you are making my point for me.
