Why the frack didn't the island take Sun? I understand why it didn't take Frank or Ben but Sun? Mmmmmm. Something is up here.

I don't know. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that she had her child? I dunno. I love that she clocked Ben. Sun is bad ass.

Poor Sayid. Looks like he's gonna have a tough go of it.

Love that Sawyer is in charge now and Jack is at his mercy. Kate better not be a bitch and screw things up with Sawyer and Juliet (but, yeah, I know that's gonna happen). :p

I wish Sawyer would punch Kate right on the forehead.

FTFY. Jack and his control issue is officially getting on my last nerve.

Both of them get on my nerves. Like they are both so high and mighty or something.

Annoying. Kate especially pisses me off. Eberyone wants you and you don't know what you want so you'll screw it up for everybody. Figure out what you want already.

The thing to me that is soooo unrealistic are things like the conversation between Sawyer and Jack.

Havent seen each other in years, they are back in the 70's Sawyer knows a ton about Dharma, things they all wanted to know when they were first on the island learning about Dharma and all they do is talk about who is better in charge?

Please!

I think anytime you time travel for the first time you might have some real questions and afew "Oh wow man" comments.

The difference is that Jack didn't really care. I think Sawyer's old defenses popped up--he's used to a position of authority and never took any crap from Miles/Juliet/Faraday/Jin, he wasn't about to from Jack. Remember, this is 3 years of his life with Dharma, that doesn't include the other 25 where he was a complete prick. Old habits die hard. :)

I really like Jack's reaction though--it's completely different than the guy who used to take charge and go gung-ho into a situation that required thinking through. It was seen in the beginning when Kate asked him what they are going to do ("I don't know") and at the end when he walked away from Sawyer's house. This is a new Jack.

And I don't think Jack was looking to take charge, I think he was looking to Sawyer to tell him what the plan was--and Sawyer was the one that took it the wrong way. I mean, Jack traveled 30 years BACK IN TIME. That might be a little confusing, don't you think?

I dont know chap I go back 30 years in time and I see someone I know friend or enemy I am immediatly asking questions and listening to their stories over a beer. It would be so amazing that your own personal situation is set aside and you just revel in the absolute majic that just occured.

Good read. Hadn't thought to look at it that way.

That's exactly how I took it. I think Jack is concerned and for the right reasons. They are sitting in the middle of the Dharma camp and he knows they all die. No offense to Sawyer but he has not proven to be the sharpest tool in the shed. If my life was on the line I would be little nervous myself.

He just got over being a drunk and a drug addict. He was a survivor on TWO plane crashes, the 2nd of which put him in 1977. And not only is he in 1977, Juliet, Sawyer and Jin are ALSO in 1977.

I don't think a beer would be the first thing he would look for. Maybe a shotgun... :)

Interesting. What happens now if...
Benjamin Linus as a boy is killed? Remains to be seen if he is even dead.

That was the most straight-forward episode in the history of Lost. There's not much to discuss. No big reveals, just fast-forward advancement of the current plot line. They even did a little flashback editing, but I think I know why they were beefing up his story line ...

Sayid is going to die soon.

Everyone except Ben who has taken a life has died, including John Locke.

Of course, now young Ben has been (possibly) fatally shot, so that theory is even more solidified.

Didn't Kate kill her stepfather? And didn't Sawyer kill Locke's dad?

Perhaps killing relatives doesn't count? :)

I agree that Sayid is gonna die soon. I almost thought he was gonna die last night.

Sure will be interesting to see how things play out from here. I think Locke will play a big part in how things progress with Ben from here.

There will be a major death this season, but I won't reveal what it is. (Working in TV has its advantages--or disadvantages depending on the way you look at it)

I didn't think Jack was looking to take charge either, and for a simple reason: he's a prisoner. The only difference between him and Sayid is that he is playing the role of new recruit and Sayid is playing the role of hostile. None of them know if they can trust Sawyer, but it only came to a head in Sayid's situation.

Whereas Jin could plausibly say he's hiding out with Dharma in self-preservation (and would leave if given the chance), Sawyer is in a position of authority. He's also with Juliet who's been known to be untrustworthy before (not in a Ben way--just that she has her own priorities).

Anyway, the season's been really enjoyable, though I'm not buying the whole time travel thing--or at least I don't feel the rules have been properly explained. Ie if as Faraday says "what happened happened" and there's no way to change it, then why is there any concern about what will happen? If you didn't die with Dharma the first time, then why would you the second? Of course if young Ben is dead this is all out the window anyway. Though we don't actually know he's dead, right? Just that he's shot?

I think the storylines of Locke and Jack have been etched in stone.

I think I remember the "making of" the pilot show saying that originally Jack was going to die after his heroics, but that the test audiences responded so well to him that they kept him and let the pilot dies instead, or something like that. Doesn't mean that his storyline wasn't written--it just might have been a different character in the very beginning.

I would have responded well to Jack dying in Ep. 1 or 2.

I read alot of movie/tv news sites and just like previous cast members who have been killed off, this cast member already has a new job. I have to say I am not surprised. Most of all it doesn't shock me either.

I don't consider deaths on the show the big shockers anymore. Once you know that they are willing to kill of main cast members, you accept nobody is safe. For me the big reveals are more about overall plot, direction and the explanation of mysteries on the island. I am sort of numb to cast members dying on the show now.

LOL and Hurley and Miles discussing time travel. Best part of the episode. Sort of a shout out to all of us who've been trying to figure it out. LOL No. 2 at Hurley referencing Back to the Future.
