I call BS on this trade - it was supposed to go down two days ago and we still haven't heard a peep from the phoenix media?

According the the "reliable" source on RealGM, he said it could go down and that KG's agents were in negotiations with the Suns. He was really stating that the trade could happen any time. The thread was originally locked by a MOD for being an unfounded rumor. Then the Mods opened it back up after the Mod was sent his source information (whatever that was). Then at the request of the poster the thread was locked again. Supposedly because he didn't want to jeopardize his source that the MODS verified.

Supposedly.

KG is up for an extension this offseason, that could be reason to negotiate...

The Suns certainly would want KG to sign an extension, meaning it would kick in next year and pay him less that what he would make in 08/09. No way would they extend him for over 20M$ a year. More likely something like 5 years/60M$ so that would make the extension expire when KG is 37.

he ain't gonna sign for 5 years 60 million. maybe 4 for 60.

yeah, I saw that. I just think this is too good to be true and am not getting my hopes up, especially considering the idea I floated to Ouchie yesterday was independently confirmed by Chad Ford today. I just think Boston can and will offer a better deal than we can.

I agree. It's too good to be true. First the Kobe thing and then the KG thing. I don't think the NBA gods love us that much. :D

I guess if I can continue to hold out a sliver of hope for the Cards someday then I can hold on to some hope for this year's off season for the Suns.

Boston will not offer #5 and Al Jefferson...

Danny Ainge already said Jefferson is untouchable...
Danny Ainge values young players more than anyone else...

Why the hell would Danny Ainge trade the entire young core he build up for a 31 year old Kevin Garnett who can opt out and would most likely not resign with the Celtics? He wouldn't... Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and scrubs wouldn't even contend in the East..

There is no way Danny does that especially when could get Shawn Marion, who he loves and was partially responsible for drafting, while keeping Al Jefferson, Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo, Gerald Green and Gomes or West.

To be totally honest I would rather trade for Kobe than Garnett. On Sports Tonight last night one of the "Pit" guys stated that Kobe would be the closer the Suns need to get past SA and become champions, but he also stated it depends on what they have to give up. They also mentioned the Walton, 19 pick for Marion rumor and said that not only is it a ridiculous proposal it also doen't work financially.

I couldn't agree with you more... The C's are NOT even giving up green.... let alone Jefferson, Green AND #5.... NEVER going to happend...

yeah they would, and and I'm pretty sure a deal made would probably be contigent on Garnett signing an extension with the Celts.

As to that "young core" he's built up - well, if he was that concerned about the young core and not winning now but in the future, Pierce's ass would have been shipped out by now or he'd be on his way.

it's a much better deal for the Wolves and sayign that a Pierce/Garnett combo wouldn't work in the pathetic east I think is you just trying to convince yourself that no one can offer anything to KG except for us. I don't believe that to be the case.

Not saying you're wrong about this all being bs, but go to that realgm thread and click on the profile of the user. He's only posted a few things, and all of them were inside info on troy hudson, "i.e. he's not happy, he's not in minny this summer but is working...".

It seems like that is his source, which makes sense since hudson and kg are best friends.

mums the word..

One of my sources works directly in the wolves scouting department, I was talking to him today. The original source is a former/current player who shares an agent with KG. This has been confirmed (who he is) numerous times. He can get in trouble for tampering which is why he asked us to lock the thread.

Only issue is we dont know for who, or if a 3rd team is involved.

so now lets find out who shares an agent with KG that plays for the wolves...im guessing troy hudson.... brb with that answer =)

His Agent is Andy Miller
http://www.hoopshype.com/agents/andy_miller.htm

His current clients other than KG:
Cuttion Mobley, Chauncey Billups, Antonio McDyess, Stromile Swift, Bobby Jackson, Jared Jefferies, Donyell Marshall, Brendan Haywood, Tyronn Lue, Rasual Butler, Lorenzen Wright, Chucky Atkins, Patrick O'Bryant, Michael Ruffin, Sebastian Telfair, Antonio Wright, Cedric Simmons, Kyle Lowry

I wanna call bs, mainly not to get my hopes up, but it does definitely sound real. Add that to the fact that they day after this is posted, chad ford out of nowhere comes out with an article saying kg could get traded to boston. It all kind of makes sense.

Ford gathered the part about garnett getting traded and minny ending up with players from boston but missed the 3 team part. In fact all he says in
his article is the hot rumor is that boston/minny are talking about a garnett
trade, not that boston is the team acquiring kg.

Out of that list i would guess bobby jackson is the source.

i just can't too excited about this - between this rumor and the LA radio stations blowing up about how Phoenix seems like it could be the best deal, I have to do everything I can not to set myself up for the inevitable disappointment of getting neither Kobe or Garnett.

there's certainly a lot of smoke, but until I see a raging fire, I just can't really believe what's being said right now. it would too disappointing to believe either one of these rumors only to have neither or them pan out. ******* the lottery - if we got the Hawks pick, i would be good money one of these deals gets done. POO!
