Warren, Jackson, and Okobo for Jrue?

It works salary-wise. Jrue would probably be our absolutely best option at pg. Gives the Pels a proven producer in Warren, a player with potential in Jackson, and a young pg that is still intriguing to many in the league. I would hope we would not have to throw in picks, but I am seldom impartial in these scenarios.

Why would the Pelicans do that? Idk why guys think Jrue is even on the market.

Evan Sidery, keeps saying if the Nets keep Dinwiddie, they will be renouncing the rights to D'Angelo Russell, IF big if) the Nets know they are getting Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant. That gives us a shot for Booker to talk Russell to come here as a free agent. I have NO idea how that fits in our cap space.

Well it doesn’t fit.

We have around 10 or so free, and he needs 27.

Gambo was saying he doesn’t think the suns want to have 2 guards at the max.

I completely agree, I don’t think Jrue is on the market, and if he was it would take more than that crap to get him, you would at least have to throw in next years 1st.

Well, as I said in my original post, I was just looking for competing salaries, while I would not want to throw in picks, it would be necessary.

When Zion is entering his prime Jrue will be past his. Aren’t they about 9 years apart?

If Davis leaves the Pels are at square one. It would make more sense for them to trade Jrue for nice haul of young players and picks to pair with Zion.

It would. I think we are out of that market based on James Jones saying certain guys would not be worth trading for since they are outside our timeline.

I didn't know the MLE was key in our PG replacement.

28 years old for Jrue, 18 for Zion. 10 year spread.

Jrue turns 29 in 2 days but still, I'd be okay with the age gap between him and Zion if I were running that team. My worry would be about him holding up for other reasons.

I guess looking at just stats, age, and minutes per game, it would be Cory Joseph I would want from the four listed by Gambo. If age was not a factor, just stats, I would want Darren Collison.

Yes, but not every franchise makes personnel decisions based on unrealistic fantasies of locking in a core group for several years and having them all mature into champions together. That conceit seems to be mainly a Suns specialty.

For me, the order regardless of age goes Collison, Beverly, Joseph. McConnell is a waste of time and money, in my opinion. We already have that level of point guard in Okobo and Melton.

Edit: Looking at the stats, I don't want Joseph under any circumstances, either. His shooting, assist-to-turnover ratio, PER and other numbers scream Okobo and Melton.

I'd be okay with Beverly or Collison as stop-gaps if we drafted a PG with the 6th pick.

As would I.

neither is going to command a high number, and both would be given a team to run. they can shoot the three, play good D and have playoff experience. just makes too much sense not to grab either one of them with the team just so woefully devoid of a real PG.

Beverly certainly offers a defensive focus at the PG spot, but Collison is quite the opposite. Beverly finished the year with a 1.31 DRPM (#6 for PGs) while Collison finished with a -.42 DRPM (#41 PGs). (But his RPM was #27 PGs).

What scares me with Collison is pairing him up with Book (-2.46 which is #107 for SGs). That's just an atrocious Defensive backcourt. I'd prefer someone to compliment Book better. Dinwiddie was also awful on D (-3.22, #99 PGs)

This just furthers the cause to go all in on Jrue (top 10 in ORPM, DRPM, and RPM).

Whoever fits the MLE will be a key component to this. I keep seeing our free cap space anywhere from 20+ million down to 9 million. Neither number is big, but if it's 9, we need someone to fir that MLE!

There seem to be some masochists here who actually want to witness a third failed edition of Point Book.
I keep readimng little snippets here and there from the Suns themselves saying how well he handles the ball, he can be the primary playmaker, he's like a James Harden, etc. It's not us fans.

Whoever with the Suns thinks this needs to be canned immediately, and if it's Sarver driving this, we're all screwed. Aren't two years of that failed experiment enough???
