Yeah and here's hoping that inspired 4th qtr from JJ wil get him going in this series. An aggressive attacking JJ is hard to stop and I don't think SA has anyone to do so.

52 pts in the second half compared to 34 in the 1st. That more like it.

How many times did we go to the line in the 4th qtr? It seemed like alot.

Man I'm still catching my breath. And I must admit, I had to wipe my eyes a little bit after the final siren sounded... :D

You guys are totally mentioning the great things about this game, but I'll tell you what: I am feeling VERY good about Game 5. Why? Simple. Joe Johnson. The 4th quarter was EASILY his best quarter of basketball in the entire series--if that quarter elevated his confidence, all of a sudden our bench doesn't look so bad anymore.

Smalll ball won the game for us. That's the only way to play against SA in the 4th quarter. If we don't swarm and harass on defense then SA manhandles us.

Did anyone hear FJ in the timeout? It was on TNT. He sounds like a used car salesman.

I am really concerned about Marbury's elbow for game 5. We have only 1 day for him to rest it. It seemed really bad as he was missing everything in the end.

Man, I don't know what to say. Everybody who 15 minutes ago I wanted to jump through the tv and kick 9 times in the head, guys like Shawn Marion, Joe and Frank Johnson, I'm loving right now. All those guys were key to this victory. Marion hit a big shot in the final 2 minutes, JJ played huge in the fourth, and you gotta love Frank Johnson saying, "We're gonna get a stop, and we're gonna win the game. We're gonna win the game." As if it was as simple as that. Sometimes it is.

Sometimes it is.

He'll get muscle stimulators and other muscle exercises all day tomorrow. He'll be ok for game 5.

Shawn had 14 rebounds. That was big time!

We outscored them in the paint. Though we only had 40. I had 72 last night on 2k3 :)

this is huge. Huge for confidence. Tony Parker. You may have outscored Marbury but you are still his bitch. REMEMBER THAT.

I'm feeling good about game 5 to chap. JJ is a weapon to unleash on the Spurs.

Well, I will concede that--it was great to hear. I do think that he needs to figure out who to not double off of (Parker, anybody?).

huge win.

i don't think the officiating was that bad. (prob'ly wouldn't be saying that if the suns had lost, but they didn't). the suns big men are consistently out of position setting picks and fighting through picks on defense. the most questionable call was penny's supposed push on duncan on the loose rebound, but they had to call something, it was tim duncan for heck sake:)

as much as lil' jake frustrates me with his 'energy' mistakes, he was the hero tonight.

i thought if they kept it close, they'd win. i just wish they didn't keep it that close...:)

count me in as another fan who likes the suns' chances on tuesday.

nice crossover by parker. he actually took 3 steps between dribbles. a guttsy call by the officials at crunch time.

go suns!

Great win!!! I still say FJ's an idiot for not playin big Jake. If we had him in the middle, Amare would not get so many fouls. JAKE would have gotten them.

FJ's talking on ESPN, claiming small-ball won the game, but the truth is, it almost lost the game. You can tell by his body language & talk, he LOVES small-ball.

WOW. I'm watching the post-game with Duncan and he's getting cocky.

On the loss:

"It does nothing to our confidence, we're going to SA to win one, then coming back here to close it out"

YEEEHAAW :p

Horrible officiating tonight but it looks like we got the last laugh :D

Did anyone see Steph's expression after the buzzer sounded? It looked like he was ready to go to the bathroom

Once again, Penny never ceases to amaze me. Very cluth down the stretch. His court vision is unbelievable.

Steph only has two days to heal that bad arm... Am I the only one a little bit worried about his shooting :-?

We don't win the game without all four of these players on the court:

Starbury
Penny
Marion
JJ

Each player has certain strengths that kill the Spurs. If JJ keeps playing like he did in the 4th, watch out NBA.

It's a funny game. An emotional one. We lose and Frank is the head on the stick. And the season is pretty much over. We win and we're totally rejuvenated. This is great!i'm still in shock. We won! Frank is ok. Penny. Shawn. JJ. Amare's dunk. I didn't see it but man it sounded sweet.

really nice game. I was pretty much pisssed of till the final 2 minutes. anyone else thought the game was in good hands when they saw penny fly to the hoop. I just had a really good feeling. For a team taht played bad and was in foul trouble they were in it the whole game. What happened to stephen jackson and the admiral at the end. Sorry aboutthis post just had so much on my mind.

another thought in regards to doubling off of parker, etc. why do they switch the pick and roll when it's duncan setting the screen? it immediately puts the guard on TD, then the second guy they run at him is another guard, leaving the biggest guys on the floor trying to get out to the shooters. i don't have a problem switching if it's rose/robinson/anyone other than td, but to make that switch puts too much pressure on the guard after the switch.

did anyone notice duncan's feeble attempt for the tie? he shot the same ugly fade away earlier in the series at the end of the game or half (i can't remember when, but it was on the near baseline). neither one had a chance. for the best player in the league, to be guarded by jj, the best shot he got was a fade away 20 footer?

I also like how he said they gave it away. Way to give the opposition some credit A_HOLE.

I guess the Suns did nothing to win this game.

NOTE to FJ:
Play JJ more and tell him he MUST shoot!!!!

JJ should have the green light to shoot, drive, shoot and did I say ...shoot!
He did some things that were flat out Kobe-esque!

Congrats on a game the Suns could have easily lost. I was about to blast this whole organization top to bottom with 9 minutes left. Every freaking time the Spurs had the ball it was either a made shot, a foul or an offensive rebound for a long stretch. Jake and Googs cannot play defense without fouling. It is just unbelievable!
Why doesn't Marion drive more? He is awesome from less then 9 feet out and gets above everyone.

Unbelievable game, though. Truly mind over matter stuff.

if duncan's talking all cocky about going home to win game 5, he's also the guy who said they play better on the road before game 3. which is it, tim?

you better start talking some smack, your team with the best record in the league is tied with the #8 seed, who has beaten you 5 times already this year. is that confidence or fear i hear in your voice????????

Duncan did us a favor by taking the last shot. Especially a fadeaway 19 footer from the top of the key.

Bowen, Parker, or Jackson could have been the dagger.

Damn, this team plays hard.

suns offensive game plan for game 5: TAKE THE BALL TO THE BASKET!! seems to work pretty well. beats the crap out of jumpers all game long. didn't we talk about 'win by the jumpshot, die by the jumpshot' philosophy in games 1 and 2? i like the suns chances more when they're aggressive offensively.

Ain't that the truth!
We've all been kind of expecting Amare to have an amazing next year. But what if JJ's the one who suddenly becomes a major star? It could happen. He has the tools.

Here's why I'm excited(other than the obvious):
Marbury basically couldn't shoot, and the rest of the guys stepped up and we got the win. Now, the other guys have all the confidence in the world and Steph will be at full strength.
