Quick someone go pick up some Tebow jerseys and stand next to these two with the jersey on and a couple of "John 3:16" and "I believe in Tebow and baby Jesus" signs.

good video

I think the longer this goes on the better. That tells me they are possibly negotiating and he's possibly giving the Cards plenty of time to fix the cap and figure out who to target Tuesday.

If that happened, I truely would believe the world ends on 12-12-12

Manning visits while the cap is set

Posted by Darren Urban on March 11, 2012 – 2:16 pm

On the day the football world stood still — at least in Arizona — while waiting to see the puff of white smoke in Tempe as Peyton Manning visits the Cardinals, it was interesting to see the NFL finally set the 2012 salary cap.

The cap, set at $120.6 million, is only a very, very slight increase from 2011, which means all those contracts that go up the next year become a bigger burden. It’s a big deal for the Cards, who need to get under the cap and, of course, are trying to find a way to sign Manning. Understand, the Cards can make happen whatever they want to make happen. As has been said many times, T Levi Brown will have to be released, but that’s a 16.9M cap number right there. As has been noted a few times, the future of Kevin Kolb is in limbo right now, since the Cards have to decide on his $7M roster bonus by the end of the week (and because I know it will be asked, Kolb is a $10M cap hit on the roster and $8M if he is released, according to the numbers I have seen.) The franchise tag price of $10.605M for DE Calais Campbell could be lowered too with a long-term deal (although that is easier said than done in a lot of ways; Campbell and his agent aren’t going to negotiate his chance for a big deal down just because of Manning.)

I know everyone wants to know if Manning is signing, when is he signing, etc. We will see. Obviously more things are going on than we know about. Fitz said yesterday he didn’t knowhe didn’t know anything anything yet he was able to show up today to meet with Manning. There’s always something under the surface.

I wish I had more answers. I’m waiting like everyone else. (OK, not quite like everyone else, but you get what I mean.)

Urban forgot the obvious cut of Porter who while making 7.7 million has just a 1.3 cap against hit.. a savings of 5.5-6 million against the cap as well...

ManningWatch: Seahawks still out in cold

By Mike Sando

The latest report from ESPN's Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter points to the Arizona Cardinals and Denver Broncos as favorites for landing Peyton Manning.

"The Seattle Seahawks continue to try to arrange a meeting with Manning," the report reads, citing sources, "but so far they have been unable to do so."

The report also indicates that the Miami Dolphins do not appear as high on Manning's list as the Cardinals and Broncos.

This would be fantastic news for Arizona and consistent with what the agent for Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt indicated last week.

"I think they have a tremendous shot," agent Eric Metz said, "and I'd be very surprised if they didn’t pull it off."

The Cardinals might have also positioned themselves favorably when they hired Manning's former position coach in Indianapolis, Frank Reich, to coach their receivers. They can also offer Larry Fitzgerald, arguably the NFL's top receiver and a player known for the all-out commitment to excellence that has set apart Manning over the years.

Seattle obviously feels as though it could make a compelling case for Manning if given the chance. But the team doesn't have the connections to Manning that Denver and Arizona can offer. The Broncos' executive vice president, John Elway, can connect with Manning on a quarterback-to-quarterback level. The Cardinals have Reich and Fitzgerald.

Seattle has ... what?

Losing out on Manning would hurt the Seahawks on its own. Watching him sign with a division rival would hurt quite a bit more.

Mystery team reportedly revealed as Tennessee Titans..

Other than the Vols, not sure they have much of a case to make for him, imo...

I just checked the Cards website. He's listed as #14.

Wow. That can't be just coincidence...doesn't mean Manning is signed/sealed and delivered but the team may have gone as far as saying "hey look 18 is already available"..as silly as that sounds.

Remember when the Cardinals website prematurely put the E. James is signed article up only to take it down minutes later? After the official press conference it was back up.

but he couldve done it, just being a nice guy or assuming he will come here. I just don't think #18 has his mind set yet. Interesting though

Posted 16 hours ago on USA Today (notes/quotes):

"If the Cardinals do sign Peyton Manning, he won't have to fight to wear No. 18. Receiver Stephen Williams, who has the number now, said he would gladly give it up. He even offered to throw in a set of shoulder pads if it would help."

The long player roster on the website still shows him as 18.

So I'm wondering if it's recent? Shoot. The one thing I didn't think to check earlier. Rats.

The Titans fan base would have a collective orgasm if Manning signed there. He is a God in Tenn. It makes a lot of sense from a PR persepective for the team, not sure what sense it would make from Manning's perspective of having a good team around him.

Who cares which teams want Manning. We should only be concerned with which teams Manning wants.
