Manning has been with the Cardinals now for 6 hours. How long did he stay in Denver?
6 hours in Denver also...Manning has been with the Cardinals now for 6 hours. How long did he stay in Denver?
There really is no chance of him leaving today with a signed contract is there? I mean, we won't really know anything until maybe Tuesday...right?
The Titans fan base would have a collective orgasm if Manning signed there. He is a God in Tenn. It makes a lot of sense from a PR persepective for the team, not sure what sense it would make from Manning's perspective of having a good team around him.
but the team may have gone as far as saying "hey look 18 is already available"..as silly as that sounds.
Add on top of that that Denver has the #18 Jersey Retired. Manning cant have the number if he goes to Denver.

I just checked the Cards website. He's listed as #14.
Come on... unless you are Michael Jordan or Wayne Gretzky, who cares about a number?
Outside of Chris Johnson who took a step back this year, the Titans weak just about every area
OLine which had been solid was horrific this past year, WR core are in the bottom 10 in the league, CJ is good, Defense is ok, nothing great though..
The Titans other than the Vols connection don't really have anything to offer Manning, but its cute that Bud Adams has decided he wants to try..

You way underestimate the superstitious nature of professional athletes.
Its why players give other players money just for a number.
Interesting to note that the Titans only allowed 24 sacks and 55 QB hits compared to the Cardinals 54 and 86. The Titans threw the ball 34 more times than Arizona.
On the other hand the Titans had a terrible year running the football.

azcardinals.com and ESPN both have him at #18

IMO Manning goes to Denver I'm quite sure he'll get #18 regardless

So Williams has changed back to #14 since then?Rookie CB Patrick Peterson is changing his jersey number to 21, with safety Hamza Abdullah switching from 21 to 23. A couple other holdovers are also switching, with WR Max Komar going from 18 to 10 and Stephen Williams from 14 to 18.
Is there any precedent of that in major sports?
I think Denver retired # 18, meaning he can't use it.
Or Tom Gugliata (sp?) unretired Tom Chambers #24!Come on... unless you are Michael Jordan or Wayne Gretzky, who cares about a number?
