IMO Manning goes to Denver I'm quite sure he'll get #18 regardless

Then whats the point in having a retired number if you will just give it up?

What a slap in the face to the guy they retired it for, look him up Frank Tripuko, he has a great story, went from being an assistant coach to starting QB and the first US Pro Football player to pass for over 3000 yards. Also though the first TD pass in AFL history. You just cant discount and throw away that sort of history, history I am sure Manning knows of, and would switch numbers before he ever took the #18 down from the Broncos rafters.

Or Tom Gugliata (sp?) unretired Tom Chambers #24!

Suns technically don't retire #'s any longer, they put players in the Ring of Honor. They still let the retired player choose whether or not they'll let the # be used.

Not just with Chambers, but Alvan Adams also allowed Hill to wear 33.

It happens Joe. Peyton is easily 1 of the top 10 players of all-time. I'm quite sure Manning would check with the family for permision

I mention that becuase the year before they screwed up not letting (the players name escapes) have #24, that was when they changed policy.

Yeah, it was rumored that McDyess wanted #24 and one of the reasons he left was because the Suns wouldn't un-retire the #.

OMG Somers, can't you even tell us if HE STILL HAD THE BAG!?!!!!! :bang:

Exactly.

Pitiful.

Marcus' Twitter photo will tell us more. (My theory is if he takes Peyton and Larry down and leaves it down it's bad news. If it stays up we may still be in this.)

They had to pick up Fitz to drop him off at the airport for his trip to Australia.

I bet Somers feels like such a dope on a day like this. Just sitting in his car, staring at the doors waiting to see Manning come or go. I hope he brought some eye drops.

Also heard on another board that Manning supposedly 'wanted to work out' for the Cards. No clue if there is anything behind that of it its just more of the absurd game of "telephone" thats currently taking place.
