The Marksman at the plate with the tying run at second. Hopefully he can break out of his mini-slump right here.

That just really sums up a veteran team vs young guys. AZ makes a mistake - Boston capitalizes. Boston makes a mistake - no penalty. Good night.

How do you tarnish a nice run? Lose three in a row at home...

Tracy went 3 for 4 with a homer, double and 3 rbi's tonight. I bet he is in the lineup tomorrow.

we need a win to get are confidence back up goin into the yankees series. fortunately for us we have rj then webb for the opening day of the yankees series. so hopefully we can get back to are winning ways. thats what sucks about being a streaky team like this, one loss turns into a bunch.

That's what everyone said last night -- that it would break our spirit. Well Conor said 'We played like crap. We know we can play with these guys, we have to prove it.'

Well, contrary to the media, they did show they can play with the best team in baseball, but you're right -- we're still green, they aren't, and of course we have that anchor in the dugout. Our young team needs to play close to a team like Boston, see what it really takes to be winners -- because they aren't going to get it anywhere else.

Saturday night's paid attendance, the largest paid crowd in ballpark history. The previous high was 49,707 in Game 6 of the 2001 World Series.

I have 2 questions for this....

1) So... does that mean that there was more people tonight then at Game 7 of the world series (as well as more at game 6?)
2) How many of those in attendance tonight were Boston fans... I was there.. and I'd guess at least 25-30k

My dad was at the game and said there were a ton of Sox fans as well. Blah. This series is tearing me apart. I want to see both teams succeed having grown up in Boston but now living in Scottsdale. Ah well, at least LA and SD lost tonight. :D

Yes, yet they were both sellouts. Due to minor reconfigurations of the ballpark over the years, the capacity has increased slightly since the 2001 WS.

I was at game 7.... but it's just crazy trying to imagine that there was more people at game 6 than 7.... you figure the entire city would be trying to get into game 7 of the world series since it could be a once in a life time thing

I wonder if people maybe figured "Well I couldnt get into games 1,2,6, no chance for 7", I know that was the case w/ me anyway.

EDIT: Chris Snyder is horrible, I hope Randy hits a grand slam! :p

Snyder is USELESS!

I can't believe this guy would start for any other team.

I wonder if Randy (or any of the pitchers) specifically prefer pitching to him. If not, I'd much rather have Montero in there, but Melvin loves the 'veterans.' I can't believe they got the bases loaded with 1 out and blew it, you can't do that kind of crap if you want to be in the playoffs.

EDIT: Wow, Hudson tries calling time, doesnt get it, stops paying attention and gets struck out. Byrnes goes from 1st to third on a steal and a bad throw, then Tracy strikes out on a pitch extremely low to end the inning. Very frustrating. They've now had 2 innings with fair chances to score and have blown it.

Come on, Tavarez sucks. I think I just read he passed 6 innings once this year? 3-4 runs in the 1st 3-4 innings maybe...if Melvin gets the line-up right. We scored 3 runs off a guy having a Cy Young type year so I expect more off probably their worst pitcher. There won't be another "spanking" like last night at least.

As I said, the D-Backs smply can't score enough to give them a realistic shot... Their pitching is good enough to keep them in games, but scoring 3-4 runs per game will not equate to long term success

I was at the game last night and it was really electric. Far too many Sox fans for my liking, however, each time they would start their pathetic "Let's go Red Sox" chant, they were immediately drowned out by the D-Backs fans!
Saw a pretty good fight between a Sox and Yankee fan. Hadn't seen one of those since I moved away from NY (2001)!
Also, mark my words people, in another 2-3 years, Carlos Quentin will not be in the Majors... He is so mechanically wrong... It's painful to watch him at the plate.
Drew and Reynolds are going to be very fine players!
Why is Hudson batting 3rd???
