Probably right, wouldnt surprise to see this as a 1 year deal to try FA again next year. Might actually be the smart move to make for himself.

i'll be really interested to see what the numbers are.

Whiz is building this team from the belly up. He needed to get rid of all that dead weight and bring in his type of guys. You know, the lunch pail type. Too bad the belly has been sliced open by other teams and the guts are falling out of it.

Last time I saw the lunch pail crew they were mainly over 40 guys with beer guts but they come to work every day and never take time off.
Please don't use the term 'belly' again when it comes to roster personnel. That's the expression Graves and Mac used before the 2003 crapfest to sell their abhorrent vision for the franchise.

I think the Cards saw the writing on the wall... I named my fantasy teams after his namesake...

Sucks to see him go, hopefully Roberts/Doucett will step up..

More money to spend on other positions ala OL, CB, ILB...

Doucett is more than ready the question is can he stay healthy. PROBABLY NOT!

He hasn't exactly lit it up when he has been healthy. He has proven nothing more then Beanie whom you consistently harp on not having earned that status and shouldn't be declared a starter yet. His best game, 6 catches 71 yds and 1 TD is no more impressive then Beanies best game. Nor is his 26 catches in 10 games enough to warrant declaring him a starter.

It really is pathetic.

This front office sucks, I really only put a small part of it on Whisenhunt.

I'm just glad that of all the players, we've decided to keep Levi, who universally graded out as arguably the worst starting tackle in the NFL.

In the meantime, we've added zero meaningful pieces as FA passes us by, and we're about to get fleeced for an unproven qb and will negate one of the few strengths on our team.

Oh, don't worry...Urban is already speculating on the blog that Roberts is ready to step in as a #2!

Yeah, Roberts adjusts to change very well. He stepped right in last year and was awesome right from the start......right ?

Oh wait ....

Let's be honest here - Early Doucett blows. Andre Roberts showed more last year and I'm guessing will be thrown to the fire as the #2. I'm also wondering why we did not pick WR instead of Ryan Williams if we knew Breaston was a goner.

6 catches. 77 Yards and 2 TD's in 2010 Wild Card game vs Packers... not too shabby and FAR above anything Beanie has ever done... ;)

Kent Somers just tweeted that Breaston will not return to the Cardinals. He said the Cardinals were interested, but that Breaston had better offers elsewhere.

Definte "interested."

That's why we drafted Roberts last year. Insurance for Breaston leaving.

Problem is that After Fitz we have very little at WR.

I'm fine with Roberts filling the role Breaston had as a #3. I still think we need a true #2 slot WR. Too bad that Lance Moore just agreed to return to NO.

The team probably didn't know he was a goner. Nothing about how the Cards operate indicates they are functioning with any type of foresight. They seem far more reactionary.

with soooooooooo much money and so many holes to fill on this team, i can't wait to see what kind of trash we get to fill it.

Why would Fitz want to stay on this team after his deal is up?

IF that's the case, then it should really throw cold water on the argument that the offense that got us to the Super Bowl was Whis's and not Haley's.

IF that's the case, then Steve Breaston decided that his career is better off with Matt Cassell and Haley than it is with Kolb, Fitz, and Whis.

Not exactly a great endorsement from a guy who unmistakeably wanted to stay here and was one of the great development projects of the Whis regime.

Again, IF this happens, then that will leave exactly 1 player remaining on the roster from Whis's first class, and 0 contract extensions to any of Whis's draftees.
